And I believe that's the major reason the 2nd gen is slightly larger at 6L which fits my iPad Pro perfectly. Also that helps to fit small mirrorless primes. I can divide the bag into 3 compartments and stack 4 primes in 2 of them, I use Fuji system, think about the 23/35/56mm ones. BTW the PD dividers are WINNERS, well designed!
I really can't recommend the 1st gen at this price as PD retails at all major outdoor stores who run 20% deals quite often. For $20 more vs an open box older bag it totally justifies itself.

I've watched some on YouTube - if you watch a few you get the gist that they have addressed many of the shortcomings of the first gen bags. That said, it's evolutionary not a wholesale redesign.
You seem to really be into fannies
