Arc'teryx isn't using unicorn feathers. They use the same insulators more or less as everyone else in the synth market.

But since you brought it up. Show me the Arc'teryx coat that is currently available at under $99.50 and has a higher insulation value and is lighter.

I'll just wait here.
It's a light packable insulated jacket. That's what it's supposed to do.

Seems to be only good for low 40 degree weather according to some reviews.

This is an excellent jacket and a great deal. Patagonia has (or had) their annual winter sale with the significant savings and it was the same price but they ran out of a lot of colors that Dick's still has. Jump on this now if you want something like Hammonds Gold.

I'd say 30 if you're wearing a midlayer, it's 30 degrees in nyc right now and i wore this jacket with their better sweater and it keeps me warm.

Also note, Nano Puff fits a little bit tighter than it's counterpart Down Sweater Jacket.

I own one. Bought it about 5 years ago. Its held up well through dozens of backpacking and camping trips. One thing I don't like is its VERY boxy. The shape is terrible. Its tight around the chest and a balloon around the stomach. Unless that's changed on newer models but it doesn't look like it.

Totally agree. I picked one up from the rei sale a couple of weeks ago and returned it. Boxy and super fat sleeves. Otherwise was comfortable and felt high quality.

I bought the Hammond's gold jacket about 2 weeks ago from REI when they had the same sale. I really like the color and warmth of the jacket. It keeps me warm in about 30 degree weather and I paired it with a fleece based layer when it was in the teens and was warm. It is a bit fitted, but that's what I was looking for. I would highly recommend for anyone in the fence

Bought one of these at the beginning of the winter and it's worked out great. It compresses to about the size of a softball so it's super packable. It's ridiculously warm for how thick it is. It's served me well in Tennessee, where it's seldom colder than 30 degrees. My only gripe is the fit of Patagonia clothes in general. Their medium is too short and Large is too baggy. Not ideal for tall slender people.
