I didn't see another post on this but I'm new, so be gentle.
When you buy a charger kit with the 2 3.0Ah batteries, you get a bonus tool along with it for $149. For example, you would get the following:
1 - Charger
2 - 3Ah batteries
1 - Bag
1 - Impact wrench
The impact wrench is the bonus item. Here are the rest of the options:
Impact wrench [homedepot.com] - $149
NLA> Back In Stock
Circular saw [homedepot.com] - $149
NLA> Back In Stock
JobMax Multi-Tool [homedepot.com] - $149
NLA > Back In Stock
Reciprocating Saw [homedepot.com] - $149
2 - 4Ah Battery Pack (bonus not LSA eligible) [homedepot.com] - $149
Angle Grinder [homedepot.com] - $149
Jig Saw [homedepot.com] - $149

Edit: apparently you can add separately now, which makes the deal OK for people just wanting to add a tool to their lsa battery collection.
Edit #2: not all of the add-on tools come to the same price if you add them separately (for purposes of the buy both return one "trick"). for example, adding battery kit + 1/2 impact gives you a prorated discount but only to a total of $199. however, adding battery kit + recip gives you the $149 price with prorated discount between the kit/tool.

I did this and had no trouble maintaining the discount. Using the website, add the battery starter kit (think it was $199 at the time) and the bare tool. Choose DELIVERY for the starter kit and store pickup for the tool. Go to the store, pick up the tool and then try to cancel the delivery of the batteries. If you can't cancel in time, it's no biggie, you can return to the store (or at least I did and it was painless).
HTH.
Was looking for a cheap cordless drill kit to use with a strikemaster auger for ice fishing.
For some reason, rigid and home depot aren't offering this $150 kit with the option of a drill.
bummer.

I ordered the set as described in the original post above just because Rule 1 of SD order first and think later. But it seems it is all 1 Sku now so it seems they have wizened up and I doubt you can do what you did above. I assume you are talking about something you did on a past deal

Indeed I just tried adding the starter set and then the tool and it doesn't chop the price in the cart. So you need to order one of their bundled packages and then I assume you can't return part of it
Anyone have luck ordering the items individually, then contacting customer service to have the price adjusted? That could possibly allow the prorated pricing to work.
No you can't add the items individually to the cart and get the price

Didn't work. Have you tried with this deal specifically?
HTH.
as it turns out... things change over time
fwiw...
they've done this before, then the next deal changed back to the old method you mention. either way, it normally works in store to get the prorated prices and ability to return one of the items. i do this with Milwaukee all the time, since they never have the prorated prices online.
Thanks!
