Product Name: | Bosch GCM10GD 10-Inch Dual-Bevel Glide Miter Saw |
Product Description: | The innovation responsible for both the unique appearance and the unparalleled level of performance is Bosch's patented Axial-Glide system. Beyond giving the CM10GD its distinctive profile, Bosch's Axial-Glide system eliminates three key challenges miter saw users have endured since the first slide systems debuted many years ago. While the traditional sliding compound miter saw approach enables users to make wider cross cuts, that system takes up more space and is prone to misalignment and stickiness over time. By replacing the sliding rail system with a hinged or articulating glide arm system - similar to the linkage used in a four-bar suspension design - Bosch created a more compact miter saw that delivers durable precision, remaining true and smooth over time. The Bosch CM10GD 10-Inch Dual Bevel Glide Miter Saw features a powerful 15-Amp, 4, 000-RPM motor with large easy-to-read bevel and miter scales allowing for precise, quick and easy adjustments: 52-Degree Left/60-Degree Right Miter Capacity- 47-Degree Left/47-Degree Right Bevel Capacity with marked detents and roof pitch angles. The tall sliding 4-1/4-Inch fences allow for increased cutting capacity when cutting tall base and crown moulding. With an ergonomic soft-grip ambidextrous trigger handle and a clear lower guard for unobstructed visibility throughout cut, the CM10GD provides maximum comfort for all-day use. |

Can't be any worse than my HF saw
Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2016I purchased one of these about 7 months ago... Absolutely loved it. As luck would have it, I placed it somewhere precariously and it fell over. Broke it beyond what was reasonable to fix. Purchased another one without thinking twice... That was a mistake. The thing could not cut a straight line while in sliding action to save it's life. On narrow boards, using just chopping motion, it was perfect. But as soon as you tried cutting a nice wide board, jagged edge. The entire sliding mechanism changes it's left to right plane depending how deep you plunge into the board. Most cuts varied left to right an entire half blade width!! I wouldn't accept that out of a saw I'm cutting 2x4s to rough frame a house with, let alone any sort of finishing work! It's God awful! Returned that one defective and picked up a 3rd... Another mistake... This one was worse than the 2nd! If all you're doing is cutting lumber to more manageable ROUGH sized pieces, this saw will be just fine. But who's gonna spend almost $600 bucks for a miter saw just to cut boards down to manageable sized pieces?? If you're attempting to do any sort of precision work, look elsewhere.

Had to return this one. I saved up for a year to buy it- couldn't wait to get it. SUPER DISAPPOINTED that it doesn't cut straight. Read all the other reviews- they're spot on. Cuts a kurf one way, then coming back the curf is at an angle. CAN NOT JOINT with this! MAYBE rough cuts, but that's it

I've been really disappointed with this saw. I'm a finish carpenter and fine finish is expected. I've noticed with a wide board cuting at an angle that it will not cut smooth. I've had many different saws and this one is down at the bottom of saws that have worked well and a joy to use.

DON'T BUY. I had an older Bosch 10" slider and it was great. This saw is great except there is a problem with the glide setup. It is a manufacturing problem, one that can not be adjusted. Read the other reviews. It does not track properly even when squared to the fence, it crab walks. The back part of the blade begins a new cut. One guy showed pics. Bosch has to fix this problem, or at least I hope they do. The saw has great qualities, they just have to fix this problem. I'm not sure if the 12" has this problem, but I don't see it in the reviews. Accuracy is prime, the saw is not worth anything if it can't cut a straight line. Amazon is great to work with the return process is easy.
Are the positive comments in this thread from those trying to do finish carpentry or are they just from those using it for rough cuts?
Seems to be to many with the same problem to be a random lemon once and a while and some of the reviewers have tried multiple saws which all performed the same way.

The primary reason for this is how many Moving Joints the mechanism has. So if any of them are out of alignment, you end up with something akin to a Parallax error, as the misalignment forces the blade to travel non linearly through space.
This can happen with the regular tube sliders too, if the tube holes are not bore perfectly.
Overall, if you want precise deep straight cuts, the table saw is still the way to go.

How is the accuracy at full extension? Also how is dust collection?
Dang, I wanted to love this. Wife had even signed off.

"To be accurate at any angle or bevel, a miter saw needs to be machined to very tight tolerances. At full extension, the Cruzer does exhibit a small amount of play. With a full stroke cut of heavy material at 90 degrees, the variation is about 1/32". That's certainly within most user's tolerances but it's not perfect."

The miter i have is really good and i got a great deal on it so i cant justify getting one of these "glider" types. But if i had to do it again I'd get one and make a custom stand and cabinet for it. The Dewalt slider i have the Cabinet/Stand would just be to big for my space.
