According to camelcamelcamel, this is the cheapest this saw has ever been. It has hovered around 500 for the last year, with occasional dips. I realize this isn't the deal of the century, but if you were in the market for a miter saw, this price is a lot of bang for your buck.

It is also available at The Home Depot for the same price.

You are comparing apples and oranges. The reason this saw is so great is because of the glider as opposed to slider. This is a HUGE space saver when it comes to compact setups in workshops. The depth needed behind the saw is minimal in comparison to a normal sliding miter saw. The only other 3 brands that I know that have gliding or reverse sliding miters are Hitachi, Makita and Festool.
Don't forget the Delta Cruzer. I have the 10" and like it quite abit. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Delta...lsrc=aw.ds

Besides the weight and space differences I'm looking for a 10" for the better accuracy and blade cost / use of the specialty 10" blades I already have. That said, a lot of the sliders I've played with in stores don't seem much different than the 12" models.

Also, the delta 10" cruzer 26-2241 that people referenced on home depot for $400 is $352 on amazon right now ( sold by amazon, shipping in 1-4 weeks )

edit: and if you have a Menards near you it is only $312 after rebate ( $350 - 11% rebate ) with ship to store:

Great saw, horrible dust collection. We all know miter saw are notoriously bad at dust collection, but this one is one of the worst at it.

Can't be any worse than my HF saw

No owners on here are having the bad cut issues? See way to many reviews that describe the same problem and no answers from Bosch. 54 positives yet 20 along the lines of what you can see below.

If you're lucky, you'll love it. But i doubt it... Good luck!
Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2016I purchased one of these about 7 months ago... Absolutely loved it. As luck would have it, I placed it somewhere precariously and it fell over. Broke it beyond what was reasonable to fix. Purchased another one without thinking twice... That was a mistake. The thing could not cut a straight line while in sliding action to save it's life. On narrow boards, using just chopping motion, it was perfect. But as soon as you tried cutting a nice wide board, jagged edge. The entire sliding mechanism changes it's left to right plane depending how deep you plunge into the board. Most cuts varied left to right an entire half blade width!! I wouldn't accept that out of a saw I'm cutting 2x4s to rough frame a house with, let alone any sort of finishing work! It's God awful! Returned that one defective and picked up a 3rd... Another mistake... This one was worse than the 2nd! If all you're doing is cutting lumber to more manageable ROUGH sized pieces, this saw will be just fine. But who's gonna spend almost $600 bucks for a miter saw just to cut boards down to manageable sized pieces?? If you're attempting to do any sort of precision work, look elsewhere.

AVOID IT- DOES NOT CUT STRAIGHT!

Had to return this one. I saved up for a year to buy it- couldn't wait to get it. SUPER DISAPPOINTED that it doesn't cut straight. Read all the other reviews- they're spot on. Cuts a kurf one way, then coming back the curf is at an angle. CAN NOT JOINT with this! MAYBE rough cuts, but that's it

I've been really disappointed with this saw. I'm a finish carpenter and fine finish is expected. I've noticed with a wide board cuting at an angle that it will not cut smooth. I've had many different saws and this one is down at the bottom of saws that have worked well and a joy to use.

DON'T BUY.

DON'T BUY. I had an older Bosch 10" slider and it was great. This saw is great except there is a problem with the glide setup. It is a manufacturing problem, one that can not be adjusted. Read the other reviews. It does not track properly even when squared to the fence, it crab walks. The back part of the blade begins a new cut. One guy showed pics. Bosch has to fix this problem, or at least I hope they do. The saw has great qualities, they just have to fix this problem. I'm not sure if the 12" has this problem, but I don't see it in the reviews. Accuracy is prime, the saw is not worth anything if it can't cut a straight line. Amazon is great to work with the return process is easy.
Seems to be to many with the same problem to be a random lemon once and a while and some of the reviewers have tried multiple saws which all performed the same way.

Are the positive comments in this thread from those trying to do finish carpentry or are they just from those using it for rough cuts?

The primary reason for this is how many Moving Joints the mechanism has. So if any of them are out of alignment, you end up with something akin to a Parallax error, as the misalignment forces the blade to travel non linearly through space.

This can happen with the regular tube sliders too, if the tube holes are not bore perfectly.

Overall, if you want precise deep straight cuts, the table saw is still the way to go.

These look great. I love that the motor is above and there's a belt down, makes cut capacity a lot better on that side.

Go with the Delta Cruzer 10". I have it and love it. It has a 16" cross cut capacity. That is the same as the 12" Dewalt. The Bosch cross cut capacity is only 12".

I'm in Menards right now looking at the Delta Cruzer 10in and it has a lot more side to side play than the saws with the traditional dual sliding rails, especially when its not extended. The cheaper Shopmaster Delta 12 inch slider (single bevel) seems a lot stiffer. I'm sure either is fine for rough carpentry.

That's the same model I've had for the last two years and I've loved it. I installed a custom shadow line LED light into the head of mine and it is as great a tool as I've ever owned. My biggest gripe was that they actually designed it with the capability to have a light installed for a shadow line but never sold the light itself. Has the casing for a wire to be hidden and everything. They just never made the light. It was a fun and simple diy mod to add to the saw though and I'm glad they included the housing for a light
Do you have any information on how to do this mod?

How is the accuracy at full extension? Also how is dust collection?

As a woodworker who will end up with his new saw set into a stationary table, accuracy is far and away my top consideration. While I would love a 10" slider/glider, the reality is that for precision I need to stick with a non-glide saw. Can't be having side to side nonsense.

Dang, I wanted to love this. Wife had even signed off.

I've had this saw for about 3 years now. I use it for making furniture and find it to be dead-on accurate all the time with no flex. I replaced the stock blade with a Freud Fusion thin kerf and get nearly smooth as glass cuts in hardwood. The dust collection isn't great but can be improved dramatically by hooking it up to a shop vac and extending the little flap behind the saw with some flexible plastic and blue tape. Mine is permanently pinned into a miter station but it would very heavy if you had to move it around between job sites all the time. At this price, it would be a no-brainer to me.

Thanks for the info! I don't need this nice of a saw, but for this price, what the heck.

Found this review:
https://www.protoolreviews.com/to...240/35552/
"To be accurate at any angle or bevel, a miter saw needs to be machined to very tight tolerances. At full extension, the Cruzer does exhibit a small amount of play. With a full stroke cut of heavy material at 90 degrees, the variation is about 1/32". That's certainly within most user's tolerances but it's not perfect."

More than one people in this thread have already expressed that they'd prefer the Delta Cruiser v/s this Bosch CM10GD. wondering if anyone here disagree with that?

Even though it's a 10 and not a 12 I think the bosch is the better deal. The proprietary glide system is invaluable imo. You cant go wrong with the dewalt saw, but if space is ever an issue, or you want to save space in your shop, the bosch is unmatched in that aspect
I have a 12" dewalt sliding Miter and it does take up a lot of back end space. It works for my shop because of where i have it but its something to very much consider when buying.

The miter i have is really good and i got a great deal on it so i cant justify getting one of these "glider" types. But if i had to do it again I'd get one and make a custom stand and cabinet for it. The Dewalt slider i have the Cabinet/Stand would just be to big for my space.
