It looks like AT&T may be starting a new promotion for the start of the month. I just went to my account to see what is offered since my 100mbps fiber plan is about up. Only 100mbps($45/mo) and 1000mbps($39.99/mo) is offered, no 300mbps is offered, but it was available a day ago for $40, and I saw an ad for it on TV today. If you have AT&T internet, check the plans offered in your account dashboard. There is no mention of equipment charges, but this is for a bundle. Southern states.

AT&T Internet 1000
Includes unlimited internet data$59.99
$20 off for 12 months with bundle-$20.00

Internet subtotal
$39.99

My location has a data cap. Greedy Spectrum is the only provider without data caps around here.
Yep, Spectrum is greedy. Their lowest tier is 100mb for $50 and they never seem to have promos around me since changing from from TWC to Spectrum. I used to be able to call and get them to apply the $35/month price but that ended years ago after Spectrum took over. They're the only option for unlimited at that price point and they're raising prices by $10 starting in March (in my area at least). Seems like a good time to check out ATT gigabit. This promo isn't too bad, couldn't replicate OP on that $39.99, I guess it must be part of a bundle of some kind. I can get $49.99 for the gigabit plan. Kinda sucks they make you rent the modem for $10 but $59.99 is still way more reasonable than Spectrum. Looks like I'll be ordering ATT gigabit.

For those who have trouble finding this deal, you need go to manage plan and change service (see my screenshots).

You can just change with web site, no need to call, took me 1 minute to change.

As you can see from the screenshot I've been paying $70 for Internet 100 but was able to upgrade to Internet 1000 with $20 lower price making $5/mo.

This is not $40 deal like OP posted but hey I will take it Smilie

Thanks OP! Repped!!

Edit)
This morning, I got order processed confirmation email and checked ATT Dashboard again. The price has been adjusted from $50 to $40 / mo (even better!) Check my 3rd screenshot below.

So even if you don't see $40/mo it may be adjusted after order processed.

Looks like it is difficult to avoid the $10 a month equipment fee now.

Fine print on https://www.att.com/internet/ says there's a $10 monthly equipment fee. Has anyone been getting charged this? I'm currently on the 100Mbps plan for $50 total, and I don't get charged for equipment.

Same. I'm currently paying $40 ($70-$30 in loyalty promo discounts) for 100mbps and no equipment fee. Changing to the 1000 Mbps plan I'd be paying the same thing for the next year plus equipment fee. Don't know if I should pull the trigger.
