It looks like AT&T may be starting a new promotion for the start of the month. I just went to my account to see what is offered since my 100mbps fiber plan is about up. Only 100mbps($45/mo) and 1000mbps($39.99/mo) is offered, no 300mbps is offered, but it was available a day ago for $40, and I saw an ad for it on TV today. If you have AT&T internet, check the plans offered in your account dashboard. There is no mention of equipment charges, but this is for a bundle. Southern states.

AT&T Internet 1000
Includes unlimited internet data$59.99
$20 off for 12 months with bundle-$20.00

Internet subtotal
$39.99

YMMV:

I originally was on a deal for 1gig, $100 - $30 promo for 12 months (ending in May).

I tried two different phone calls and one chat session to obtain the $49.99 for 12 months. Obviously, none of them went through and they said there was nothing they could do.

On a chance/whim/thought, I downgraded myself to 100, because I was reading here that legacy customers on the 100 plan could obtain the $49.99 price by upgrading. So, in short nothing for legacy 1gig customers, but legacy 100 customers could get the new pricing.

Lo and behold, after the order has gone through, after downgrading myself to 100 (for one day, only for the order to go through), the 1gig for $49.99 option is now available.

Same thing here. I was on the 1gig speed at 90.00 a month
I didn't see the offer so I downgraded on Monday. Today I checked and the offer was there so I switched to that. Great deal.

Thank you, I asked this question but I guess you are the only one who tried it. I will attempt to do the same.

Thanks OP! I've had the 300 for about a year, and with the bundle discount was paying $60/month. Logged into my account and had the 1G option listed. Two clicks later and my order was complete for $40/month.

Got mine changed to $50.

For those who had the question "Can you change if you just signed up for a new promotion?"

Yes, I had signed up for the $70 promotion (1Gig) to this new $50 1Gig package.

I couldn't replicate the deal for $39.99, probably because I do not have TV or wireless service with AT&T. However, I was able to upgrade from my 300Mbps plan to the 1000Mbps for $49.99 ($0.01 less than my current plan).

Thanks OP! Anyone know the next step? Will they need to swap out the modem?
Is that $49.99 including the $10 modem fee? I was told it would be $49.99 plus $10 equipment fee, totaling $59.99.

There is a $10 discount if you have other services like mobility so some people will pay $39.99 + $10 equipment fee while some will pay $49.99 + $10 equipment fee.

Some current users are grandfathered with no equipment fee and have been able to change to this offer with still no equipment fee.

I upgraded last night from 100 to 1000 and have it for $40 for one year without a bundle. No equipment fee.

I called spectrum to cancel and she offered $54 per month for service in DFW. Turned it down. Spectrum won't prorate last month service so I scheduled my ATT install at the end of March a few days before my cycle ends.

I'm in DFW as well, nice to know what pitiful retention attempt I'll be facing when I call to cancel later this week. My ATT Fiber install is scheduled for tomorrow which is oddly pretty good timing since my Spectrum cycle goes through the 11th of the month.
