It looks like AT&T may be starting a new promotion for the start of the month. I just went to my account to see what is offered since my 100mbps fiber plan is about up. Only 100mbps($45/mo) and 1000mbps($39.99/mo) is offered, no 300mbps is offered, but it was available a day ago for $40, and I saw an ad for it on TV today. If you have AT&T internet, check the plans offered in your account dashboard. There is no mention of equipment charges, but this is for a bundle. Southern states.

AT&T Internet 1000
Includes unlimited internet data$59.99
$20 off for 12 months with bundle-$20.00

Internet subtotal
$39.99

Same here. Didn't see any difference between before and after. I ran the wifi speedtest on my ipad. It's showing 200ish mbps. Have you tried to contact ATT?
Not yet but I guess I'm going to have to. But mine did change. Got slower. I consistently got 300 before. Now I can't get Above ~220

Yes for me as I have more stable video streaming and quicker downloading speed (reaching 30Mbps whereas it was about 7-10Mbps with 300Mbps plan). I have less buffering watching video apps on my Shield TV while my wife was watching video on her tablet, and surfing the web on her phone.
That's still pretty slow for having a giga fiber. What kind of a router are you using?

I believe with AT&T you're stuck with their equipment.

Bypassing AT&T WiFi gateway for WiFi, it only connects to my Asus RT-AC5300 with QoS on Customize mode and FreshJR script in Merlin firmware. I also have other scripts running in the background (Diversion, Skynet, DNScrypt, and stpMerlin). It is understandable because we are just two people, and the whole house is wireless even on my gaming desktop.

I currently have 1000mbps fiber with them but am paying way more ($90) so I called and talked with and they said I didn't qualify.

It shows I can add new service online for 59.99 with the equipment fee so I might add that and cancel my existing service. Rentention said they couldn't see any option for doing that in their system.

Just spoke to customer service. Was told that they wouldn't connect me to loyalty just because I want a special price. She said you already have a promo for 30 dollars off and promotions are seasonal she won't be changing the promo I receive even though I just started this plan exactly 2 months ago.

Sprint Unlimited Kickstart is a phone plan; AT&T Internet 1000 is a home Internet plan. Also, the Spring plan has severe limits:
  • Streaming video (up to 480p)
  • Streaming gaming (up to 2mbps)
  • Streaming music (500kbps)
With AT&T Internet 1000, you can get multiple times that quality and at much higher speeds.

I hope this helps,

It was weak sauce, i switched (yesterday) and tested the speed at speedtest.net. I hit 320 mbps download but when i went to ATT and used their speed test - it showed 1000mbps. I'm sure they must be fibbing on the numbers.

Edit: I just tested my google wifi and ran a speed test - looks like 700mbps today. So definitely better

Find the loyalty number on the internet (there are several). You received ridiculously bad CS.

I actually don't think AT&T is fibbing on the numbers because the numbers they're showing is what they're sending to you, but how you're receiving it makes a huge difference.

If you're on a wireless connection, you probably won't be seeing anything that close to 1000Mbps. Your stated 700Mbps is actually really good, especially considering Google WiFi's limit on the 5Ghz band is 867Mbps, if I remember correctly. And with wireless connections, there are many variables that come into play, such as interference, channels, and the antenna and radio configuration of the access point and client.

To get really close to 1000Mbps, you'll need a wired connection.

What speeds were you getting before switching?

I hope this helps,
Tofu Vic

today, I was able to switch to 1000 MBPS plan using Internet link posted ! Thanks !
I did not call any phone number, used URL, login to my account -verified , added new 1000gbps service in cart (modify existing plan) and placed order. within next 10 min. Done. Checked speed on my home Modem - it is 960 mbps ! (no reboot required)
background - I am new customer, last week - I switched from Spectrum to ATT 300 MPBPs plan (12 mo promotion price - $50 /mo) . It is good to get upgrade in a week for almost same price ! Also no cap of 1 TB data usage with this 1000gbps plan. Already loving AT&T internet service !
Thanks for sharing the deal.

Just got off the phone with an ATT rep. She said everything looked good from their end but she can see that my modem is not registered to 1000mbps yet - still showing 300mbps. She asked me to restart the modem and if i still have the same issue, call the technical team directly. They will be able to help me. But I'm not at home now. I will try again when I get home tonight. Hope this helps!
