It looks like AT&T may be starting a new promotion for the start of the month. I just went to my account to see what is offered since my 100mbps fiber plan is about up. Only 100mbps($45/mo) and 1000mbps($39.99/mo) is offered, no 300mbps is offered, but it was available a day ago for $40, and I saw an ad for it on TV today. If you have AT&T internet, check the plans offered in your account dashboard. There is no mention of equipment charges, but this is for a bundle. Southern states.

AT&T Internet 1000
Includes unlimited internet data$59.99
$20 off for 12 months with bundle-$20.00

Internet subtotal
$39.99

It looks like the unlimited data is "$30" value. I have a feeling after 12 months, whatever promo will have a data tier to it.
That "$30 value" is just marketing to give the sense that's it's more value than it is when they're actually just artificially valuing it by imposing the data cap on the lower tier in the first place when data caps are entirely unnecessary. ATT has unlimited data as part of the top tier Fiber 1000 plan so you shouldn't have anything to worry about unless you downgrade to the lower plans which are data metered plans. If you get TV with any of their plans, it's unlimited too. I'm guess it means it's probably all data and they might not be able to count which is which or maybe just don't want to put the effort into doing it.

I just tried looking up new (internet only) service and got an online only waiver of equipment fee for first 12 months! So 49.99+tax.

Anyone else see that? Besides taking pictures of the final order form, anything else one can do to confirm it will be honored?

Upgraded from 300 mbps to 1gig. Speeds are still between 400 - 500 mbps on wifi after the upgrade. Anyone else experiencing this? Modem is from late 2017.

Same here I spoke to tech support and they are going to send me a new router. They are replacing my BGW210 with 5268AC 2019 model. Only advantage with 1gig plan is no data cap.

One data point here. I have the same Tmobile router and I flashed it with Merline software. I set at&t modem in passthrough mode. Under 5GHz wifi, my MacBook pro can only get around 500m up/down. When connected to the ethernet port with a cat 5e or cat 6 cable, I can get around 850m up/down. At modem diagnostic page speed test, I can get 980m up/down.
yeah, i'm getting about the same speeds as you as well. i just upgraded to 384.15 merlin f/w yesterday and it seems to have helped a little. except when i'm on the ethernet port of my asus router it's also only around 500-600 vs on the att gateway which gives me 900+.

so there's a new 5268 model? i thought those were the old crappy ones? why would they use the same model number if it's a new version?

I asked the same question, they are saying it's a new model and compatible with wifi 6. I will return if it is worthless like the 2017 5268 model.

Same experience, speed ranges from 200-400 mbps after upgrade to 1000 mbps. They are sending me same model router (BGW210) but with upgraded firmware. Hope it will solve the speed problem.

I already have AT&T Fiber but I'm paying $100+ a month. I tried getting them to give me the new pricing but they wouldn't budge. Anyone able to share some tips on how to get them to give me the pricing despite being an existing customer with fiber already?

if you go back a couple pages, many have had luck with downgrading to a lower speed, then upgrading back up to Fiber 1000.

Thanks! I just downgraded to 300, but I don't see the option to upgrade back to Fiber 1000. I guess I'll give it a day like the others, fingers crossed Smilie

the people that used that method had it show up the next day. there was that one person who had CS did it for them but they didn't mention if that was immediate or not.

You guys should know you are not going to get full gigabit on wifi, probably not even close. If you're getting 500, that's actually surprising and really good.
