It looks like AT&T may be starting a new promotion for the start of the month. I just went to my account to see what is offered since my 100mbps fiber plan is about up. Only 100mbps($45/mo) and 1000mbps($39.99/mo) is offered, no 300mbps is offered, but it was available a day ago for $40, and I saw an ad for it on TV today. If you have AT&T internet, check the plans offered in your account dashboard. There is no mention of equipment charges, but this is for a bundle. Southern states.

AT&T Internet 1000
Includes unlimited internet data$59.99
$20 off for 12 months with bundle-$20.00

I already have AT&T Fiber but I'm paying $100+ a month. I tried getting them to give me the new pricing but they wouldn't budge. Anyone able to share some tips on how to get them to give me the pricing despite being an existing customer with fiber already?

Ask to be transferred to their loyalty department.

I currently have 1000mbps fiber with them but am paying way more ($90) so I called and talked with and they said I didn't qualify.

It shows I can add new service online for 59.99 with the equipment fee so I might add that and cancel my existing service. Rentention said they couldn't see any option for doing that in their system.

Thanks, everyone! Rep at first couldn't do anything, then I suggested the drop/raise thing. She dropped it down to 300mbps for me and at first it wouldn't let her or me immediately change it back to 1gb, but I followed the link in the OP while logged in and it showed my plan as 300mbps and allowed me to add the $50 plan to the cart and finalize it.

Just quoting a few to see how existing customers were doing. I'm on gigabit now with ATT but paying $100 a month. Looks like chat or call are the options - any ideas on which the best ones are?

So I chatted first. The rep got the approval from his supervisor to extend the new promo to me. Told me I did have to call in and speak to "loyalty" dept. and that all my promos have been notated and will be applied.

Called in and I was set up moved from $70 to $50 a month in about 10 minutes. Only thing that sucks is that the new plan requires you to pay $10 a month for the modem.

For me, I started with live chat, was told I'd have to speak to the loyalty dept. They weren't able to apply any promos to my existing plan (Fiber internet at $100/month). I asked them to downgrade me to the 300MB plan ($90/month). After, when I signed back in I wasn't able to upgrade to the 1000 fiber plan, but after checking back an hour later or so, I was able to upgrade to the 1000 plan at $50/month Smilie

I'd recommend skipping speaking to any reps, and just do the downgrade/upgrade plan that everyone else has been doing nod

The customer loyalty department likely has the most power. I think that department only has reps who do telephone calls and not chat, so even if you initiate a chat, the chat rep may connect you to a customer loyalty department via a telephone call.

I hope this helps,

Thanks all for the quick replies. I have been sitting on chat and as noted above, got sent to billing then to loyalty via chat, then asked to call loyalty.

My current bill is $100 all in, equipment and taxes. We will have to see $49.99 + $10 fee + taxes what it works out to, but will still be cheaper. After contract though, at $70 + $10 + taxes it might be a push but take whatever savings we can get for a year right?

NA: I have successfully submitted your request to change the rate of your plan the same as online of $49.99. The next step is to partner up with the Loyalty Team that can be reached at 800.288.2020. They will be able to complete the process and once they read the notation that I made, they will know what to do next. I really want to help you on this one that's why I personally passed a request from one of my colleagues at the Loyalty Team. I am confident that they will be able to help you as I have worked with them before.

Upgraded from 300 mbps to 1gig. Speeds are still between 400 - 500 mbps on wifi after the upgrade. Anyone else experiencing this? Modem is from late 2017.
Use cat 6 ethernet cable to directly connect your PC with router/modem ethernet port. I can get around 890mbps.

Install went as expected and I'm now up and running with fiber. Install took about 3 hrs. It's a single continuous fiber line from the pole into my house that terminates at a box (that's under my desk) that converts the fiber to Ethernet. the Ethernet line runs 2 feet to the BGW210 modem/router that sits on my desk. No problems reaching near the advertised 940 speed with their modem/router connected to my PC via Ethernet. For wireless, my iPad pro from 2016 gets about 330 up and down in the same room as the router and that drops to just shy of 200 up and down on the other side of the house through 3 walls. So far no complaints.

This upgrade promo is to get people to remove the ongoing promo they currently have for their current internet tier. And BTW att does not offer internet pricing ending in $0.99. Stop lying folks
They do offer that pricing, there is no tax on the internet. Get your facts right.

yeah, i'm getting about the same speeds as you as well. i just upgraded to 384.15 merlin f/w yesterday and it seems to have helped a little. except when i'm on the ethernet port of my asus router it's also only around 500-600 vs on the att gateway which gives me 900+.
I have the same T-mobile router with stock firmware. Unfortunately I only get around 300 vs the AT&T gateway which runs about 900+. This is so frustrating. I plug the same router over at my parents place which doesn't required the stupid modem and I can get 900+. This is so puzzling....anyone think we have a hardware compatibility issue here?

Sucks. I just called for $49.99 deal and customer service guy said this applies to New Customers only. I am trying second level CS.
