Crusader Kings II is one of the biggest grand-strategy games around, and since the game went completely free to play, Paradox made clear that their new strategy is to make players buy the many DLCs released for the game. However, this time around, they are giving one of the most important expansion packs for the game away, and this is a must pick for anyone who plans to play Crusader Kings II.

The Reaper Due's main feature is the addition of the Black Plague in the mid game, however, there's more to it. Players can now invest in building hospitals and court physicians, cities will now react to such diseases and they will seek refuge, which the player can deny as themselves seclude their court. New traits for the player creator, ways to deal with prisoners, as well as new events are also included with this expansion.

This is free to keep - get now and keep it forever.

Hmm have the game in my library already... I was unaware of that.

Added DLC to keep it company.

Thanks OP.

I get that error all the time. Just back it up to the same page after signing in and try adding it to your library again and it usually works.

Fantastic there's been so many free dlcs over the years.

If you install the base game [steampowered.com] (free download) it should allow you to claim the free DLC.

Also, you can get Crusader Kings II: The Old Gods Expansion DLC for free. $14.99 value according to Steam [steampowered.com].

I got the error as well, kept trying to back out and 'purchase' again. Same error, even using web. Finally I clicked on "Play Game" (on the Play Crusader Kings II base game), It popped up the installer. I clicked cancel. Then Clicked "Add to Account" again. This time it went through. It must not let you get DLC if you don't 'own' the base game.

Good info. Very helpful. I'll add that note to the post.

Has anyone played this or am I the only one adding it to the hundreds of other games in my Steam library I will never get to play?

Sometimes I hate TRD. Get going well, plague, or camp fever, or so on and so forth. Well worth it for $0.00. Sadly, already had it. Hard to skip the DLC on deep discount sales.
