60% off with a tripod and case included is a great deal for a 4x360 line laser — usually you'd pay extra for the tripod alone.

It's probably not really a $100 level. There are plenty on Amazon comparable in price around 50$ but this does come with the tripod and case so I suppose it's not a BAD deal.

If you look on Amazon, there are 10 to 20 identical laser level kits that are identical in every way. There's one company in China that makes them and a bunch of companies that just slap their name on it. That being said it's still a pretty good deal. They are usually in the $60-$100 range.

Everyone saying these are are identical prob haven't tried any of them.

There are some that are identical but a majority aren't. Different size and form factors.

As someone who does construction for over 25+ years, I wish even the crappiest of these were around when I started. That said we've bought kits of various brands for our guys to go out and use. We've also used brand name ones like Kleins, Bosch, and Dewalts as well and can confirm the bang for the buck are these "Chinese" ones. At $50-100 they have more than paid for themselves on the first job whether we are installing recessed lights, marking/leveling/squaring tiles, framing check etc...

We've dropped plenty of lasers, kicked them around on accident, etc etc. Compared to a $300 Klein or Dewalt... There's a lot less heartache and fear of loss/damage with these.

A Few Cons:

Battery life sucks, rotating between 2 batteries most of the time does the job. A lot of times we use the crossbeams for reference and then use shotlines so we don't waste battery.

Most batteries are non compatible with other brands (for those who assume they are made from one Chinese factory lol). Good luck buying additional batteries for some of these brands.

The branded lasers last about 25% longer.

Some of the cheaper ones the lasers don't go as far and the lines aren't as dark.

I was looking at getting one of these kits that won't break the bank for me as I only really need it to line up some walls I am going to frame in my basement. Worth a shot at this price point given that it is a kit.

How is it compared to recent Fanttik D2 deal (~$30). I already have the tripod.

Better name than the usual "kyjamkfyrk" or such.

This one was a pain. Kept trying on mobile and it kept failing. Finally got it ordered when I did it on a desktop computer. I'll update if I remember once I get it.

Finally got mine 10 days after ordering, you get what you paid for on this. Manual doesn't describe the accessories which were all mixed in the box. Not sure what the jack or the metal plate are for, the rest seem handy.

The case is nice to keep it all contained, but honestly contemplating returning it (never did a return on woot though)

I bought one too and it seems like the angle can't be locked (manual says to press and hold the "mode" button which causes it to beep but nothing else, it stays in auto-level mode). Has anyone figured out how to lock the laser to set arbitrary angles? Obviously it locks with the power switch/slider but that turns off power too...

'lock' feature or 'manual mode' is just turning off beeping noise so you can angle it however you want. It doesn't lock the pendulum itself.

Thank you for clarifying, the other one I own locks the pendulum as well so I assumed that was typical
