Absolutely. I just impulsively purchased it but don't know when I'll use it but it was too good to pass up! I also purchased the bag too. Not a slick deal but I wanted something to store and carry it in. With the money I saved on the grill, I still come out way ahead. Only caveat is as mentioned, it's 60 pounds!

Is this good as a starter backyard grill? Not sure if I'll really get into BBQing.

I've been looking into getting a larger one of these, are these a good alternative to gas grill?

This is neither a grill nor something that can be used for bbq. This is a griddle. Burgers, bacon, pancakes, sausage, etc.

It's good to upgrade a grill with a griddle pan.

Damn, I just bought one last week. I already used it to cook breakfast, lunch and two dinners. Works awesome!

Can you put a pot on top of this and use it like a stove top? Like to boil water or cook soup?

This griddle can absolutely handle bbq lol. Maybe not a 5-8 hour slow smoked brisket, but it can do short ribs and steaks just fine!

I have the 17' version and used it everyday this summer. It's awesome. I paid a lot more because I had to buy everything separately. I was able to cook whole chickens with it.
