I can live with fake materials as long as they're reasonably robust and look decent, I just can't live with crap quality shoes at any price.

Are these actually passable for doing real work or are they as wussy and brittle as I'd imagine Tommy Hilfiger boots would be?

Edit: that sole looks cheeeap.

Looks like (from some quick googling) that the upper is fake leather as well.

Assume like the rest of Macy's junk it is cheap crap that is the same or worse quality as Target but cost 5x more.

I live in a climate where duck boots make a lot of sense. I just find them soooooo ugly.

I bought a pair of these to work in around the yard. They're ok, but one of them isn't exactly waterproof.

I kept mine, but I'd say they're worth about what the sale price is.

Regular price on Amazon for these is $38 since Feb 3. Amazon has now increased the price and then issued a $10 coupon, the effective price is still the same.

for $38 these are just fine for being out in rain. i can't say for certain about snow as i live in georgia, but they hold up to rain pretty good. they run small so buy accordingly. i normally wear a 10/10.5 but i ended up with a 9 in these.

not waterproof at all. I bought these from Macy's around 3 months ago. Even in light rain, my socks get damp around the stitching between the fake leather and the rubber bottom.

Huh? I would argue the opposite. And if you're gonna split it as men's and women's, I think the women would like a word with you about their state of affairs in the form vs function world.

Compared to them we have so much more comfortable clothes for any number of situations compared to them.
