Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

Thanks for the info. Before seeing your reply, I called the local Sprint store, talked to a couple of guys and they sounded like hungry sharks. They wanted me to come in and do the sign up in-store. When I told them that I wanted to do it online because there's a $300 promo. They asked one another about it, hemmed and hawed, then said "Well, come in and we'll see what we can do for you". Sounded more like "what we can do TO you" :-)
you have been warned!!!...avoid the Sprint stores like a virus....hehehe....

I have 2 lines (and 2 iPhones) on the sprint 1 year free plan thats ending next month. Say, I port them out today to say H2O (or somebody temporarily). Can I open a new sprint account tomorrow or in 2-3 days and port in those numbers and use the same iPhones and sims? Or will they still detect those phones to be with sprint?
if you open a new account under the same name i think you have to wait 45 days. open a new account under someone else's name (other family member's, girlfriend's, lover's)....instant.

here is a good guide:

I used a link at that site to order a SIM kit directly from Sprint with overnight shipping (free). $2.99 for the kit + $0.26 tax = $3.25. I live about 50 miles from Sprint's HQ in Overland Park, KS. They probably can mail it by 1st-class mail and it'll get to me the next day.

i was trialing this byod no credit check page....and it seems if you plan to max out 5 lines, you'd need to choose the sprint unlimited basic where you get the 3rd,4th and 5th line for free, instead of the kickstart. kickstart is ok if you only 2 lines.

damn needgeech you are awesome! tried to rep you again but they say i need to spread the love....
Terms say "credit approval required" not sure if no credit check would qualify. Sprint ambiguity.

Just commenting my plan/idea. I am currently on Sprint Unlimited Free Year BYOD. It ends this month 3/20, so I am going to simply port out to Google Voice, then port back into Sprint with a new account via the Kickstarter plan (unsure if a credit pull will happen again or if I can hopefully go with the no credit check route this time).

Then apply for the MasterCard and in a few months I'll hopefully get the $300. I did debate doing 5 lines with 5 eBay phones but... I feel like that is a bit excessive lol.

I'll report back how it goes!
do you really need to port to GV? will cost you $20 and it is voip. voip takes longer (possibly a few days) to port into your new carrier.

Thanks for the reply. The 45 day restriction will be for the number or the device? Or both?

From what I read, it seems like the current sprint account holder (1 year free plan that needed credit check) can in fact do this offer with a totally new account (without credit check). So the 45 day restriction can't be on the account holder?

45 days is when you open and they will consider you a new account. for the device or phone number, it is almost instant. once you take your number and or device out of a sprint line, you can re use it right away. but before re using, always check the imei number on sprint's imei webpage to make sure it is out of sprint.

Wait, so the current, active 1 year free customers cannot even do this deal? Lets assume they could port in totally unrelated numbers and unrelated new devices?

if you use your 1 year free account definitely you cant' do this deal. thats why maybe i will call them and let them change my 1 year free to a regular paid account so i can get this deal. or of course you can open a new paid account and do this deal.

taxes are based on where you live. so if you live in LA or anywhere else with high taxes i'm sure you are used to it.
