Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.

You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.

Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

I have a old Moto E cell. But after enter IMEI, the sprint website tell me "We can't activate this phone online " "Sorry, please bring your phone to a Sprint Store so we can help."
Any idea to solve this?

I am a current Sprint customer that just finished up the free year of service. I'm looking to get a new phone and keep my number, while also taking advantage of whatever deals I can (Kickstarter, referral fee, LMCU deal, etc.)

What is my best course of action? Thanks for all the help!

AFAIK you need to wait at least 45 days since you terminated sprint. I read that transfer the number to a different SSN might work but I'm not sure about that since someone post a screen shot of the terms that the number previously used with sprint might not be eligible.

the wiki for the 1yr free plan is also a good read. It's linked on this thread's wiki at the bottom.

you can port to google voice and come back. but thre is info that the port in number should be active 40 days in prev netwrk
may I confirm the # should be 40 days active to port in Sprint?

I had Tracfone sim and number just activate this month (< 40 days), but when I # checker in sprint, it show "eligible" , any risk to do if I sign up the plan and won't be able to port to Sprint?

thx

90% of the people are porting for the profit in this thread, so you're being outed as ignorant.

that is true but sprint is known to terminate lines that have no activity back in BYOD free days. They might or might not do it here as well. Better safe than sorry.

read through this. https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...y_account/

I would assume not activating provided IMEI or sim would count as " providing false or misleading information or documentation to obtain services or discounts"
They won't do that here since they are billing people until canceled for this offer.

There's a difference between buying 1 and buying 5

I've read tons of this thread and the # porting more than they "need" is very significant portion of the people in this thread; It might even be the majority.

I was surprised at how many cell phones I found laying around my house when I looked. I personally could port at least 7 lines and I know I have even a couple more I couldn't find or my roommate is using.

Any help with this? Thank you.
Otherwise I imagine a self-referral to another account under same name and address is a big no, right?
Added one line to my existing Sprint account yesterday through bf with new phone purchase. The $125 cashback did show up after couple of minutes.

Try to check it in Ting or Tello BYOD checker which will push the IMEI into Sprint and it will allow to port into Sprint.
