Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

Why? They only require 90 days of service to qualify for the $300 GC, and the $50 referral bonus is supposed to be paid out after 30 days.
Ok so I refer a family member and went through then they registered their phone and got a "Nice! A reward is coming your way..." email. How would I know if Sprint will reward me too becuase I didn't received an email confirmation that my referee signed up. How do WE keep tabs on those rewards. Anyone?

that is true but sprint is known to terminate lines that have no activity back in BYOD free days. They might or might not do it here as well. Better safe than sorry.

read through this. https://www.reddit.com/r/Sprint/c...y_account/

I would assume not activating provided IMEI or sim would count as " providing false or misleading information or documentation to obtain services or discounts"
Online shows lines are activated and rep told me your lines are activated and i havent put the sim to phones.

After activation and registration have been completed, the referee gets an email with the title "Nice! A reward is coming your way..." and the referrer gets an email with the title "Nice work! A reward is coming your way..." and the content says "Great news, (Your name)! (Your friend/family member name) has made the switch to Sprint based on your referral which means some rewards will be coming your way...". Check your spam/trash folder if you didn't get one.

Is sprint charging now for full month even if account was closed within 3-4 days of activation?

I had opened one no credit check acct with 1 line, but ported out that line after 3-4 days as tcb did fraud by not giving any cb... But sprint sent me first bill charging for full month and customer care is saying i have to pay it as i used the service and they charge in advance...
So Will they keep the charge or they will charge pro-rated for 4 days??

Also, Can I open another no credit check account with same name and dob and still qualify for this offer?
or i cannot do it now as already i am customer in last 45 days.. (as i opened account in march and closed in march)..

I've read through them both, and see the following options available to me:
  1. Call Retentions to move to Kickstarter plan ($35/month). Once that is done, upgrade current phone to iPhone 11 for $445 ($18.62 per month for 24 months [sprint.com]), though I am not sure if you can upgrade and keep the kickstarter plan
  2. Port number out of Sprint. Get iPhone 11 from Costco [membershipwireless.com] for $380 ($15 per month for 24 months) and create Kickstarter account ($35/month). Not sure if you can do Costco and kickstarter together though
  3. Port number out of Sprint. Do Best Buy's $25 kickstarter deal and iPhone 11 [can I get the iphone 11 for $15 for 24 months and the $25 kickstarter deal from sprint] for $699 [bestbuy.com]
Am I missing potential options here? And will any of these options still allow me to get other Sprint promos (LMCU, $300 prepaid, $80 tcb, etc.)?

awesome. thanks for doing that.

i think in your situation..the very third line is most important :

Sprint lines from 1yr free BYOD will most likely NOT work, so dont ask how to port out and back in!

Aishwarya, please tell me what I can do instead of what I cannot do. I'm not necessarily looking to get the $300 prepaid mastercard deal, just looking for advice on the best path forward if I desire a new phone and new plan.

Yes, they bill a full month ahead but doesn't give a partial refund if you cancel before the end of the billing period. Someone posted a link to their Billing Q&A recently.

if u dont want the 300, then is easy.

port out of sprint to carrier or ur choice..verison, att visible, h20 etc

port back back into sprint using a different social security number.

if u want a phone, consider the $300 pixel 3xl...original msrp of 900..seems like a good deal...

myself i am content with used ebay 1-2 year old flagship like new phones for ~130.
i am considering a lg v40 for that price or a lg g8 for ~150.....just waiting for a ebay coupon that is more than 5%..

Does Kickstart plan $35 includes tax or how much is average tax on top of it?
It does not include taxes and that depends on your location as there are multiple taxes from federal, state and probably country and city taxes that can apply...coming soon! Height taxes!

I guess this means we will all be paying 4 bills if we wait 90 days to dump Sprint?

That's what I allocated in my Expenses vs Rewards calculation.

From what i've read here around SD, the G8 is the better buy. Too many negatives on the V40. I myself may go that route.

They feel very similar but if the price is only $20 difference, I'd go for the LG G8 without question. Pretty decent jump from SD845 to 855, more than 835 to 845 was IIRC. I think I paid about $210-220 for my G8 last sept.
