Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.
I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

Mine, friend's n families' phones all remain Locked after several attempts to unlock it.
Now I plan to create another account with 1 line, Kickstart. Same name, of course. Do you think that will work?
Based on other posts in this thread, the answer to the question is that you have to port the number out for 45 days so there is not enough time.

If you want to maintain phone number that is, or was, at Sprint at any time, then one workaround is to port that number to Google Voice and then point it to the never-before-on-Sprint number that you transfer to Sprint for the $300 offer.
Beware that any phone number originating from a Sprint MVNO like Boost, FreedomPop, Tello, TextNow, Ting, Virgin will probably not qualify as new to Sprint.

I intend to keep 2 lines after getting the rebate cards - I should be able to convert to 35 kickstart plan later on or kickstart can only be selected while porting the line?
After merger, T-Mobile and Sprint may launch new plans as soon as next month. There is no guarantee that Kickstart or something similar will continue to exist. However, you should be able to change plans to whatever is then available, if you desire.
And sprint won't unlock it even after I switch to other carrier.
I have tried to make numerous calls over a period of 2 and a half months and all i am told is my phone is either already unlocked or will be unlocked in 24 to 48 hrs.
but when i put a sim card from tmobile, it doesn't work.
that happened to all my friends and families and co-workers who took advantage of the BYOD last time.
Good lock!
it worked last time when sprint tried to screw my girlfriend's bill.
Sprint had an executive called within 3 days.
I have a factory unlocked Samsung S10 direct from Samsung.com, could they lock my IMEI to Sprint? How about with a Sim unlocked Verizon S10, could they lock that one to Sprint too?
it happens to all my friends, families and co-workers' unlocked devices through the last BYOB plan.
