Sprint WILL RELOCK your unlocked device as they did to mine. Not a single incident as friends and family of mine got their RELOCKED to the sprint network. We all had unlocked devices when signed up. Now all our phones are locked to Sprint. Thats illegal.
You have to stay for 90 days to keep the $300 and their unlock policy is 60 days, so while I agree they should not be re-locking phones, you can get it re-unlocked after 60 days and before your 90 day requirement is fulfilled.
Thanks! Ordered the BYOD Amazon SIM on Monday and was sitting on whether to switch my Iphone over. I felt a little dirty about going back to Sprint. I left them 4 years ago (after 18 years as a customer) and said I'd never go back.

Glad I did. $300 is better than $100 and I can still port out in a few months. No contracts on the Kickstarter plan. They automatically waived the activation fee by doing it online as well, but after looking at my confirmation email it says there will be a one-time credit of $30 within 3 invoices however that plays out. My first bill will be charged 30 days from today.

I was concerned with the Amazon reviews saying they were sent 4 of the same SIMs, but it worked flawlessly. Over chat the rep told me which one to use. I also asked if I could double down on both the $300 and $100 Amazon SIM promotion, but was a no go. Worth a shot anyway.

I think the IMEI checker can only check
1. if the device is compatible with the network
2. the serial number of the device (if its on a blacklist etc)

I don't think they can tell if the device is sim locked on another carrier.

When I did the IMEI check at the sprint website, it said my phone was eligible for BYOD promotion. I bought that phone in the open market and it was almost 2 years old.

If it is not taking other carriers sim(even unactivated sim, it is locked to T-Mobile, how long have your been with T-Mobile if more than 1 yr, maybe you can ask them to unlock it for you even you got it from marketplace

After I received the SIM (or the phone with sim), I activated the SIM online.
However it seems that even though the SIM is activated (received email confirming) the porting is not done.
I *must* call the porting department? There is not way to complete the porting online?

Edit: I called and they could not port Google Voice number due to "an issue" and had to escalate to a supervisor. The issue is with "bandwidth" which is the backend provider for Google Voice.

Please do not use your mobile to replace home internet, you'll just ruin Unlimited Data plans going forward.

why do you need to go in store?

try calling again 1st thing in the morning. I think the porting department opens at 8 or 9 edt.

I assume any device orders placed for porting in numbers would have to be delivered by the 9th at the latest and then I would have to call immediately to complete port in process.
If there is any delay in porting the number to say the 10th then the promo would be denied...correct?
Is Sprint still delivering overnight & I assume orders go out the next day?

LOL. 6 hours? Are you kidding? I spent ONLY 2.5 hours....and the horrors of talking to some really stupid agents (not re: porting). I don't know how I kept my cool. Years ago I would have blown up...

This is a new one... so I ordered some of the LG phones Apparently one of the phones was 'sold' to two different customers, maybe a SDer LOL. They put a hold on the order, didn't say anything. I had to call in and prod before someone figured it out. Now I ask, why would an internal error require the customer to intervene. Shouldn't fulfillment say, hey... wait... we can't ship this one phone to two different customers... fix it. /rant

Sprint does deliver overnight. I read somewhere you have 30 days for activation so you are safe.
