This seemed like a unicorn tool for me since the end of last summer. HD finally started to get them in stock at $150, but I kept putting off the purchase due to all of the rain in my area. Thanks for finding this, OP!

How does this compare with the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 10 in. Pole Saw Kit with Attachment Capability and 8.0 Ah Battery

I'm very tempted, but this seems like a very limited use tool for where I live. (but still tempted)

I have the dewalt saw and trimmed up 4 trees in my yard pretty seriously with it. Pretty happy with it all in all.

The M18 line is very nice and versatile. I'd say that saw-for-saw, thie Milwaukee is nicer than the dewalt saw.

It's all about the battery systems though. I have a bunch of dewalt tools and batteries and don't want to have to juggle another line. But between dewalt and the M18 line, it's practically equivalent.

How does a company estimate "REACH" How is one supposed to know the max this thing extends? It say ext to 10ft. What in the flying chain saw is 15 ft REACH? This is FALSE advertising or there is an assumption of all people being 5 feet tall. Is this something against little people, or tall people? What is this 5 foot added to 10?

I just got a Fiskar from Costco, it EXTENDS 16 ft. Which makes sense. I can do the rest of my arm and height and figure if I am using a ladder and know the reach 16ft will give me.
What if this DEWALT is a 15ft fully extended? Is that what 15ft "reach" is ??

I think it really just boils down to what tool line are you invested into battery wise. IMO Dewalt / Milwaukee / Makita are pretty much on a even playing field as far as quality.
