I think this is the lowest this laptop has been. Only has 8gb of ram but you should be able to drop in another 8gb stick pretty cheap. I have been debating the XPS 15 oled vs this one but I ended up choosing this one due to the GTX 1660 ti vs the gtx 1650 in the XPS.

The Walmart deal that had 16gb and 512 ssd was $42 more. I would rather have those upgrades but this deal is available now.

What's the point of this laptop? A 1660ti is not going to drive a 4k display well in anything more graphically intensive than half life 2.

Its more of a "creator" type laptop that can be used for light gaming. It should be able to play most games at 1080p fine.

There are a lot of resolutions between 1080 and 4k...

It's silly to think a laptop is only for playing AAA games, or games in general. This is a fantastic display and just great for media consumption or regular laptop usage. The GTX 1660 Ti is ~15% slower than the RTX 2060. It's still a powerhouse and will do just fine in less intensive titles even at 4K. You can always game at 1080P (scales evenly into 2160P) which works very well for more graphically demanding labels.

If you want to pay a huge premium, this laptop does also come in much pricier 2070MQ and 2080MQ variants. The 2080MQ will fare much better for 4K gaming. Take in mind that this is a very light (4.7lbs) and thin gaming/creators laptop. You can definitely find other deals for bulkier laptops that would probably work better for you if you want a more powerful GPU at a lower price tag than the Aero 15 line. Even cheaper if you compromise for a lower resolution display. Makes perfect sense, just depends on which features you prioritize.

Gigabyte is releasing their new laptops on April 15 with Intel 10th gen. You can actually pre-order from their online store right now. I'm expecting another price drop in two weeks.

I heard that the fans on the OLED Gigabyte laptops are super loud, and constantly ramp their speed up and down while in use. I agree it's silly people who think laptops are just for games. I actually want one for editing astrophotography photos. I take pictures with my telescope and what better screen to edit photos of stars and dark sky objects than an OLED laptop? I am debating between the Gigabyte OLED, Dell XPS Oled, or HP x360 Spectre Oled laptops. Which one should I choose?

I was looking at this before, the color calibration would be nice to have, but is it really? I hate calibrating my monitors 😆
