Be careful with Newegg refurbished items. I got a "certified refurbished" shark vacuum from them but mine came in scratched, dented, and dirty (removed dirt form bin but filter still dirty with hair ). They said that is fine and that what refurbished is. Refused to provide rerun shipping label as refurnished items do not qualify for pre-paid returns. Really? Neweg quality seems to go down the hill - fast. Which is sad as there was a time when they were great.

Seems they just re-send returned items as long as they power on. Nothing refurbished about it.
Sold and shipped by Dyson, it's a pretty solid deal.
Nope. I have the bigger Dyson TP02 fan and even those don't really drop the temperature by any stretch of the imagination. They're great at throwing air towards the direction you point them to and working like any other tower/ceiling fan where it will blow the air at whatever temperature its at.

The reason I love it is because it is very quiet when it does its thing, is wifi enabled, works with Alexa and it looks really great with my decor (I have the gun metal silver and looks amazing). Any other normal fan would be equal in terms of 'air blowing capacity' but you can get from point A to point B in a cheap Hyundai or an expensive Rolls Royce. This is the Rolls Royce of fans.

I know that these coolers are not supposed to replace air conditioners, nor were they meant to, but can anyone that own one of these attest to the fact that they can actually cool a room? Are they able to drop the temperature of a room to a degree that a ceiling fan can't?

They can't. They are weaker than a $15 fan in terms of cooling you off. But they control temperature well when heating.

For $80 more you can get a brand new v10. Think it would be worth it for the warranty?

I bought a refurbished HP01 from eBay about a year ago for $162 and I haven't regretted it at all. After getting a safety recall on my $30 Amazon space heater, I decided spending money on a reliable one would be worth it. I use it every night to heat my 12'x12' bedroom so that I don't have to heat the rest of my house overnight. In the summer, I use it as a fan/air purifier. Maybe it's a placebo effect, but the air feels more crisp and refreshing after running it. I used to spend a lot of time in my bedroom because my roommates would overrun the living room, and this made it much more enjoyable. Super quiet and very effective. Probably wouldn't pay retail price, but as long as the refurb doesn't crap the bed anytime soon, 100% worth it.

You get a functioning unit. But Dyson refurbished by Dyson sometimes you get that unit that was all beat to crap and you have no idea how a fan has so many scratches.

Because at low speed the air channeling makes it feel stronger and when below 40 power it is quieter then other fans because the blade noise dissipates in the fan body. Once you go fast enough it is just as noisy.
