deal [monoprice.com]

Very nice price on these. Switch to 13amp ones for even more savings. S/h starts at $4 and depends on cables and qty. I got 8 cables for $21 shipped.

For those who are curious, hospital grade cables are 'same' as a normal power cables, except they are built to much higher standards.

More info on hospital grade can be found here [leviton.com]. I can't be 100% if those requirements are uniform and standard and apply to monoprice, but worst case scenario, they are just much better built cable. Usually, these are tested to higher standards than following in following categories
  • Cord Pull Test
  • Assembly Security Test
  • Power Blade Retention Test
  • Ground Pin Retention Test
  • Crush Test
  • Mechanical Drop Test
  • Impact Test
  • Abrupt Removal of Plug Test
QA Note: 6ft is now $1.04, 15ft is NLA

$1.52 only?

That's be hospital grade.

Real hospital grade would cost $152 or something like that! Smilie

I had a minor surgery last year. The hospital charged me $72 for a pair of single-use socks that I wore during the procedure.

"Hospital Grade"??

It's an IEC cord. I guess hospital's use high quality ones? I doubt they are buying from Monoprice though...

It meets the UL standard for hospital grade. They've been making high spec cables for a very long time. I trust them to make the cables properly.

Just note these are not extension cords. I am sure you already have a bunch of these at home from random electronics. I never have seen one break before or malfunction.

Yeah, they can name their price and do, with no relation to the actual cost of the labour or materials. So vote for the candidate who wants to change that.

Please look closely at the pictures. This is the type of cable that comes out of your desktop pc and into the outlet.
