The M12 oscillating multi tool is regarded as one of the weakest points in the line. It is overdue for a fuel model with tool free blade change. I own and use it. The key thing I like about it is how compact it is. I just keep it in my main tool case and don't feel like I'm making any sacrifice to have it with me. If I need more power I just grab a corded one.
The m18 one should be a much more solid tool.

I like this deal because I don't feel like the M12 jig saw goes in sale very often and this is a good starter kit for home or handyman.

If I didn't already own the m12 jigsaw I'd be tempted by the jigsaw, multi tool kit. Not sure how the multi tool is in the m12 though, been considering it in the m18 platform with the 5.0 battery at same price point as the m12 four tool kit.

The multi tool is one of the M12 items I do not own however I have it in the Dewalt 20v.

Agreed this is a good handyman's starter set. I have updated all my M12 to brushless M12 however I am cuckoo about tools so that was eminent. The regular m12 lineup (non brushless) will satisfy the regular "joe" for most things. The brushless is the M12 tools on steroids!

I ordered this kit last week when it was $189 and was pretty happy with that deal. I haven't used anything yet, but the jigsaw was the main reason for me. I actually gave the rest of the tools to my dad since I have the M12 fuel drill and impact. Which are incredible, by the way. Anyhow, I think this is an overall good deal.

Agreed. I have this M12 kit, and the multi tool is pretty mediocre. It has zero vibration control, which is enough to shake the battery loose sometimes. I usually hold one hand over the battery to keep it running. It burns through batteries extremely quickly - I just removed about 8 ft of caulk (between siding and brick), and had to change the batteries twice. Granted, I only have the starter 1.5 AH batteries, but that's what this kit comes with.

If I ever have a large job for a multitool, I'll be buying one that's more powerful and nicer to use. On the other hand, I'll keep the M12 multitool around since it's compact and plenty powerful for a little job like cutting a hole in drywall for an outlet.

I bought my dad the same kit, minus the sander for Christmas. You can do a lot with it and this is a good price I would say for everything included.

The circ. saw is good, the multitool is awesome, that covers you for most things you need to cut. Sawzall being the only other must have I would say.

The sander is kinda lame, I have used it and the full plastic rigid dust collector box isn't very good, and it's awkward. It sands fine though. Have used the Rigid cordless orbital and it just seems way better in that respect.

I used the drill some yesterday, seemed to be fine.

I work as a carpenter and use some of these tools all the time. The impact from this kit we have 2 of, and are used and abused a lot. One of them gave up here a few weeks ago, the fan blew up, that impact is about 6 months old but again, these have taken falls, worked in dirt/snow, 1000's of screws and bolts driven at this point. Not babied at all.

If you're going to beat on it every day as a contractor tools will wear out, but for DIY household they should last a long time.

I know it says online exclusive on the website, but can you also get this price in store? I've read you can do that on past posts here. Also, for online orders, does it show the prorated value for each tool? Eyeing that 2-pack of Milwaukee 1/2 impact wrenches (2767-20) for $350. Would be nice to return one and keep the other for $175.

Home Depot online exclusives are typically just that. They send you a single box that has all the items kitted and there are not prorated returns.

Really? Even if it's just the two impact wrenches? Weird they would do like wholesale packaging for two big tools like that.

Im sure there are exceptions but anything from tti it seems like home Depot just calls them up and is like "we need a special combo kit with a drill, a cheeseburger, and a charger but no batteries." And tti special packs it for them

"a cheesburger..." Haha! That's good to know though. Thanks! I'm tempted to just buy it, and worse case scenario, just return the whole thing if it comes in some sort of bulk packaging.

Is that an official policy now? When I look at their website now, they say you get store credit without and receipt.
