Get a Apple - 21.5" iMac® with Retina 4K display (Latest Model) - Intel Core i3 (3.6GHz) - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Silver. It is a one day deal, good for today only 3/25/2020. $300 off. I was looking at this yesterday for $1099, glad I waited a day to purchase.
is it worth getting memebership to costco just to buy it?
Ask yourself if there will be other items that you will buy there. If so, then you may want to get their credit card, if possible, through Citi. Gas, grocery type items, etc. all add up in the course of a year. It's up to each individual though to assess its worthiness. Choose what is best for you.

The Costco sale is until the 5th, so I'd guess it depends on what's available between now and then, your tax situation (Costco charges tax in any state where there is a sales tax--other retailers with a smaller discount might not).
I'm waiting to see what happens with the new iMac announcement. You may be able to buy without membership for a premium (that's available at the warehouses). I already have Costco, though.

We buy everything from costco, since usually it has the best deals or the best quality. Last year, we paid 55 for a membership but spent around $13,000 through vacations, tech, and groceries. There is 2% cash back so we got our money back on the membership because we just got sent a $230 check in the mail.
This is not a good deal... if your picking up one this old you might as well just pick it up used... The performance on this thing is going to be like dragging your balls around... idk how this made it to front page ... COVID-19 is really screwing with the Slickdeals algorithm today...

Also waiting for a 27" deal, especially as the rumors are a new iMac is about to be released.

I was able to swap in an SSD in about an hour. The first time it's a bit nerve wracking but the second you will do it in 20 mins
