"Budget". Oh audiophile community, you never seem to disappoint
how often do you replace a tv? this potentially may last you 20+ years... you'll go through 5+ tv sets in that time, many will go through 10+
it's all relative
well, given that 30% of the cortex is dedicated to visual processing and only 3% is dedicated to sound it would be reasonable to think that a high end display deserves more money than the speakers.
Bought a set because this is a great price for a budget bundle without a subwoofer. I've been waiting for something like to set up with my dual 15" subs.

You have to forgive him, he's going to remind us that his soundbar sounds just as good 🙄.
Funny how people will go top end with a display but have no problem going cheap with the other half(50%+) of movies and believe that's good!

10+ TVs in 20+ years? Who the hell buys a new TV every 2 years? Even every 4 years? My last TV (Samsung 60" Plasma) lasted 6 before it started turning off randomly, more and more often as time went on. You're absolutely right about the speakers though , just buy quality in the first place, take good care of them, and they'll last decades. The technology(outside of the receiver) never really changes.
Love the reviews I have seen on the bookshelfs, but ended up going with the Evolution series from Wharfedale. Maybe I need a second set-up so I can have both ;-)

Absolutely! This irks me to no end. $2k on a tv? Nobody blinks an eye. $2k on the audio side? Oh man, you're richie rich!

Speakers could potentially last you a lifetime. Cry once, buy once.
