I called the toll-free number on the Mobil 1 rebate website. They confirmed that Walmart is a valid retailer for this promotion.

I always look forward to this deal every time they offer it, but after the Walmart debacle last year, we're pretty well stocked up.

Also, it looks like the deal isn't quite as sweet as it used to be. It's showing $10 back on a bunch of varieties that used to get $12 back. And it says it's a prepaid Visa card now, they used to always send a check.

Looks like I'll be skipping this one, but still a solid deal for those in need. Thanks for posting OP!

TL : DR Mobil had a $5 coupon good at Walmart off of one jug. But there was a glitch that let you stack multiple coupons and it took the discount off of all the jugs, effectively making them free. And you could still apply for the rebate, in theory getting paid to buy the oil.

Limit 2.. we're back to that, it was 4 past time around.
Also the amount changed.. advanced fuel economy is $10 instead of $12

I was looking for the European Car Formula for my old Mercedes and I found it listed as Mobil 1™ FS 0W-40. Now I can get some money back after April 1.

It has worked for me for many years. I would believe it will continue to work again this year. It has never listed Walmart as a qualified retailer, as far as I can remember.

I notice this year it says in bold that non approved retailers will not qualify. Not sure if it said that in past years though. Dont want to deal with returns given the environment.

Edit: yeah no oil filter included this year.

With crude prices bottoming out I wonder if it makes sense to hold off on this for a little bit to see if retail prices start coming down? I know they have for gas but not sure lubricants have followed suit yet. Thanks OP!

I too have used this promo for years but indeed last year was nightmare.
I had to call and nudge them on each rebate.
Multiple calls for each rebate.
