"Even if a restaurant worker coughs or sneezes directly in your food, you won't catch coronavirus from eating the meal."
""The transmission is through the respiratory epithelium in your nose, mouth, and eyes. It's unlikely to be transmitted in the food, more likely on hands while holding food packaging," said Dr. Eric Cioe-Pena, an emergency physician and the director of global health for Northwell Health."
steak fries, mash, corn, rice, and green beans.
might try the burgers since the other $20 option is just chicken.
$40 for the ribs seems too pricey for me, since all the add-ons are the same across the board.

Be careful with BJ's. People have had food poisoning at their locations in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
I think the stuff is prepared locally. Cook it properly and there's nothing to worry about. I know that even with a convection oven I have to cook their stuff for WAY longer (like +50%) than the label reads...... and I highly doubt everyone is using a thermometer; in fact I'd bet very few do, they just see "oh 375F for 45 minutes!".
Another potential issue with takeout food is the possibility of contracting another communicable disease or getting food poisoning from improperly handled food that would require medical assistance at a time when the health care system is overwhelmed by the coronavirus. This is not a time to take unnecessary risks.
No deal here.

If the virus is on the food surface and you chew it then I'm pretty sure the epithelial cells lining the mouth will have a non-trivial chance of exposure.

This is a PANDEMIC. The word is not used lightly. If the US (and the world) would take this seriously, then we could slowly return to normal life so much sooner than what is projected.
It's so frustrating. I wish that everyone would just distance for the time being, take every precaution that we are advised to do, then argue that this was a waste of time because we ACTED correctly!
Sorry for the rant, just to the point of ticked off. Cue lady coughing all over the grocery store charged with acts of terrorism.

Not really. Maybe with the salad, everything else you can heat when you get home to eliminate anything you might have gotten.
How many times have you caught a cold or the flu from someone working in the kitchen?
Never? Because food safety standards are already really high.
