Not sure why you're getting the thumbs down but this is a good deal for returning users.
Taxact barely had any deals this year. Best I got was 50% fed. This deal is 50% off both fed and state.

I was a returning customer. I didnt sign-up as a new customer. However, I didn't use TaxAct last year so may be that's why managed to get the discount.

If you work and stay in a single state, try to see if CreditKarma's offer is enough for you or not. It is so far free.
I used it last year but this year they changed one condition. You can't stay and work in different states which disqualified me.

Did the price get doubled recently ? I had previously got 50% off Fed return deal for $20 Premier.
While filling the return it is now showing $40. Looks like the retail price also has gone up by 100% to $80.

I had been using TaxAct for a few years when their prices were low. But they keep jacking up their prices every year recently. Last year, I switched to FreeTaxUSA and will use their service this year as well. It's just $15 for everything (Fed + State + Stocks + K1 for business owner).

How do I get this deal? I'm a returning TaxAct user so I'm looking for 50% off. All of the links and "See Deal" buttons on this SD page do nothing (they just take me to this same SD page). If I go to SD coupons and click "Get Offer" on any of the TaxAct deals, I am told "No Coupon Code Required" and it takes me to the TaxAct home page with no discounts. None of these coupons were in Expired Deals. If I go directly to the TaxAct home page and make sure I am signed-out, it shows me the different products (Basic/Deluxe/Premier/Self-Employed) with NO DISCOUNTS. So much for "No Coupon Code Required", so much for slickdeals.

I don't use them any more. Used them for many years then they jacked their prices for no reason. It is a hassle to keep switching. I will NEVER go back to them at any price.

It worked for me, as I'm a returning user... but now that I'm almost done with my return, the price is back to full price. I'm going to have to call these bozos before I file again. What a nightmare... I'm beginning to loathe this TaxAct piece of terd.
