Not a fan of their product. The material is very durable but almost double the weight of the premium backpacks. I almost died carrying my 55L backpack.

This one's only about 2lb but I agree, it's heavy for the size.

For anyone looking to buy, a 30L pack is small for backpacking. It's basically on the larger side of daypack. If you're unsure how much volume you backpack with, this pack is too small.

This is a weird pack in my opinion, and only good for day hikers who need to carry a lot and won't buy a nicer brand. Any backpacker experienced enough to carry as little as 30L will probably have a lighter, nicer pack. Anyone who wants a daypack will probably go with a different brand too. Anyone who is new enough to buy something by Alps Mountaineering for backpacking probably needs twice the space. It's too big to be a commuter pack and the hip pads will annoy them.

Honestly, if you're looking for something like this, just get an Osprey on sale. Waaaay better gear, company, warranty.

Seemed similar to the Kelty 44L backpack from Dick's last weekend at around $40.

As a counterpoint, I would never buy a backpack based on specs, online, if I were going to use it for anything more than a day hike.

Go to REI after the stores open again, and get one that fits you. The 2lbs or so difference that you might find looking at backpack specs online is nonexistent as long as the backpack fits you. I would rather carry 30lbs well than 28 lbs on my shoulders.

Looks like a decent option for upgrading our grab-and-go bug out bags. The quality is decent, the price affordable, and the size adequate for emergency bags as opposed to full sized backpacks.

How much weight are you putting in your bug-out bags? This one seems to be soft framed with a sheet, I doubt it carries more than 25lb very well, and I would worry about the durability anywhere near that weight limit
