Is this a good deal? Need a i7 laptop but Scared to spend $1300 on LG laptop
it's from costco. So 90 days return policy, 2 years manufacturer warranty or 4 years if pay using costco citi card. Also additional $99 will get you 3 years accidental warranty, even if the user is at fault.
With long return policy and years of warranty will give peace of mind.

Yes it's a good deal. I got lg gram 8th gen and oh it's so light and got amazing battery life. This one is high end spec with touch screen and really good integrated graphic. I said if you have Costco membership just grab it. If it's not fits your workflow then return it. I tell ya when you experience laptop this light every other thin and light laptop feels like a brick!

There're folks who specifically want LG gram mainly for its lightweight and portability. So for them this is a good deal. If your requirement is not similar then I'm sure you'll be able to find a better and cheaper option with Dell and Lenovo or even surface laptops.
With dell it might not be with 16GB RAM, but it will be of something that you can easily add if needed later and still cost lesser than this.
But again if weight is your top most priority, then you can't really go wrong with this one. Considering you're buying through Costco, you'll have peace of mind with their return policy and additional warranty 👍🏼
I don't mind a laptop that's a little more substantial if it means there's better cooling or is just more robust in general. Seems like a Lenovo X1 Carbon, similarly spec'd, would be cheaper and a better solution especially if the unit's going to be docked the majority of the time?

If you don't need a premium laptop, but fine with a slightly bulky one (1lb heavier) with similar specs and a dedicated graphics card, try this - https://www.costco.com/lenovo-fle...17352.html for $680 + taxes.
