It's the cheapest you can get a brand new D3.1 modem for currently. Most of the 3.1 modems all use the same chip, the BCM3390. Differences are just the PCB, casing, amount of ethernet ports (for link aggregation), etc. Just make sure your ISP supports it, most of the larger ones do, it's just the smaller ISP's that may not support it.
IIRC, the most direct comparison is the SB8200. Both have two ports that support link aggregation (if your router or computer supports it, many routers don't). SB8200 runs a tad bit hotter, but enjoys much wider support among ISPs. SB8200 also has 3gb of RAM, while the 1100 has 256mb (not that it really matters TBH).
256M and 3GB are very different. I wonder if it really doesn't matter. Why would Arris use 3GB if it really doesn't matter? Just some reasonable suspicion. I don't know shit about how these modems work.
I'm still looking for a modem that is ALTICE/Cablevision/OPtimum + VOIP and supports 400mbps+ AND does not have some of the known board issues with lag that i've read about back in the day

I tried it , eventually got it to work (Manually activated it ) but it wasn't reliable , this modem is overkill for optimum service
Those with Comcast/Xfinity: does Comcast upcharge you with any fees when you provide your own modem? I'm being charged $14/month for the modem rental and want to figure out the "break even" point in owning my own modem.

No upcharge for your own, just make sure to return the rental equipment and get the exact procedures for your local area.

$119.99 / $14.00 = 8.57 months B.E.P. Truly another no brainer

No. Costco does not do price match or price adjust.
I was there this morning, only to return a pair of jeans. I am working from home and didn't have much to do so I went there not knowing how much of an impact was yesterday's federal government acknowledgement that over 100,000 will die from the virus.
This caused the renewed Costcandemic and therefore, I decided to just go home.
So I looked it up and they actually have a link on their site specifically for this purpose. So I guess we'll see what happens.

One thing to point out, Comcast apparently is offering unlimited data (no 1TB monthly cap) for $10 extra on top of the modem rental. This is normally $50 so if you're someone that expects to go over it might be worth doing this.
Of course, this is just another money grab by Comcast to Nickle and dime it's customers. So... Ya.
This has been rock solid on RCN, recommend especially with the Costco return policy. I get around 900 Mbps on what is supposed to be a 1000 Mbps connection. I do not believe the modem is the limiting factor.

If they balk, just buy a new one and return on the old receipt.
