It's the cheapest you can get a brand new D3.1 modem for currently. Most of the 3.1 modems all use the same chip, the BCM3390. Differences are just the PCB, casing, amount of ethernet ports (for link aggregation), etc. Just make sure your ISP supports it, most of the larger ones do, it's just the smaller ISP's that may not support it.

IIRC, the most direct comparison is the SB8200. Both have two ports that support link aggregation (if your router or computer supports it, many routers don't). SB8200 runs a tad bit hotter, but enjoys much wider support among ISPs. SB8200 also has 3gb of RAM, while the 1100 has 256mb (not that it really matters TBH).

256M and 3GB are very different. I wonder if it really doesn't matter. Why would Arris use 3GB if it really doesn't matter? Just some reasonable suspicion. I don't know shit about how these modems work.

Costco does Price Adjust their sales if new sale price shows up in 30 days.
If they balk, just buy a new one and return on the old receipt.

Bought this last time it was on sale. Currently no issue with Xfinity on their gig speed. About 900+mbps down and 35mbps up.

I've had this modem for a year or so, bought it from Costco. Works good with my Comcast Xfinity 1Gbps plan. No issues with it so far.

This is a good deal. Used ones are selling for $90-$110 on ebay.

I ordered one last week at $150, did chat with costco this morning and they are refunding the difference.
Should be delivered tomorrow.
With everyone working from home and kids at home, my old modem is starting to show it's age and rebooting often. (7 year old 16x4 modem).

Going to upgrade service from 300mb to gig tomorrow after I get the modem.

Confirmed that it works on Spectrum gigabit service. However, it is not technically supported by Spectrum so they will not push firmware updates as needed. Netgear relies on the ISP for such updates and does not provide them directly.

On another note, Netgear posted a video on their YT channel regarding the CAX80 which is supported by multiple ISPs (confirmed on Spectrum's website). They mentioned a March-April release date with an MSRP of $429...oof!

Reason being that the router isn't doing anything fancy like acting as a DHCP server or doing things your router would typically do (wireless networks, QoS, etc). I believe the benefit of 3gb on the Arris is to run some carrier services. One thing I know the 8200 has that the 1100 doesn't is the spectrum analyzer if that's at all relevant to anybody.

Amazon has it for 109
Even though it's "Prime Shipping", the $109 price on Amazon is for a used device.
