Look at the ryzen 4800H with RTX 2060. Launch prices are good start you will see the prices going down occasionally.
With two years old hardware that was sold at $999 isn't a good deal specially its refurbished.
It's not a good deal but these new laptops aren't even a direct upgrade to the Overpowered
Although they sport a more powerful CPU & GPU, their display & keyboard is crappy in comparison.

How do you know the display is crappy? I see 4800H-based laptops (not even released yet) with 144Hz 1920x1080 displays. Have you seen them IN PERSON to make such a claim/comparison? You've typed on the keyboards?

Because ASUS themselves claim it has 45% ntsc.
There's more to a display than just resolution and refresh rate
45% ntsc translates to 60% srgb coverage. This is literally the first 144hz laptop panel to not be 95% srgb. And given that this is a cheap panel, you can expect the response times to be in line with literally every other 60% srgb screen on the market at 30ms+. Even the costlier G14 has 35-45ms response times, although 91% srgb is a lot better.
The Overpowered uses your standard high quality 17.3" 144hz gaming laptop panel with 95% srgb coverage and 10-15ms response times.
And yes, I've typed on their keyboards. Ultrabookreview claims the TUF keyboard didn't change from the previous models. If so, it has a mediocre keyboard with very shallow & "cheap" feeling feedback. The Overpowered has a mechanical keyboard and although it's not as good as a full-fledged mech, it is an upgrade over the TUF's as long as noise isn't a concern.

Then, you are correct...both the display and keyboard are crappy! Thanks for the heads up!
I bought the 15 inch a few days ago and have just received it for about 5 days. I must say I am impressed by the unit. Feels solid runs 3D mark overnight and pass with flying colors. Performance are on pair with my work laptop (Aero 15W v8) same specs but my work laptop cost 3X as much when I bought it. This comes with a mechanical keyboard that's missing on the Aero 15. In terms of size they are very close. I did pull the trigger on the 17th if i didnt grab the 15. very solid.

What and when will be released soon that makes this not such a good deal?
A lot folks will fall behind on bills, lose their jobs or whatever...which means a tighter net not extendable to luxuries.
