    I've used enough Irwin to know better than to use Irwin. The 4 on the left are junk the 4 on the right are probably decent usable tools. I bought the Irwin welding pliers and they are worse than harbor freight.

    Not to "thread crap" but the new import Irwins aren't great quality. The tool metal they are using is pretty soft so, don't expect them to hold up well to heavy use. Probably fine for a DIY around the house but not professional duty. I'm not a tool snob ... I think you can probably buy as good or better from HF for less coin. HTH

    I can't help but agree with your comment. I bought a pair of irwin pliers from a previous slickdeals and after the first use, the teeth already started to wear out. For comparison, I also got a pair of pliers from knipex and was expecting the same result. I thought I was being too tough with the pliers, but the knipex definitely demonstrated their higher quality. The irwins will be throwaway tools, while the knipex will get the toughest job done every single time.

    I paid $90 for these 3 years ago, happy enough with them after modest use. Superior to HF hand tools I've owned, though understandably that isn't a high bar.
