This quintessential food-science-and-cooking-technique title is now available in ebook! This version is best viewed on your tablet device. Also available in a text-only reflowable format, for use on a wider range of platforms.

Alton Brown is a great cook, a very funny guy, and—underneath it all—a science geek who's as interested in the chemistry of cooking as he is in eating. (Well, almost.) At long last, the book that Brown's legions of fans have cooked from and celebrated and spilled stuff on for years is available as an ebook, providing a brighter, shinier record of his long-running, award-winning Food Network TV series, Good Eats.

From "Pork Fiction" (on baby back ribs), to "Citizen Cane" (on caramel sauce), to "Oat Cuisine" (on oatmeal), every hilarious episode is represented. The book is illustrated with behind-the-scenes photos taken on the Good Eats set. It contains more than 140 recipes and more than 1,000 photographs and illustrations, along with explanations of techniques, lots of food-science information (of course!), and more food puns, food jokes, and food trivia than you can shake a wooden spoon at.

He's just as funny in person as he is on the show; maybe even more so. Among other things, I asked him if he really does always carry nutmeg, as he had said he does... and he brought it right out of his pocket!
Bought it, its not OCR'ed to text, just every page converted to a picture where you have to zoom in and scroll around to read. PITA to use on my iphone and I would rather just use the recipe on food.com.
Didn't they just release a new season last year (Good Eats: The Return)?

Excellent book! Has a lot of Alton's staples in it, like The Chewy (chocolate chip cookies), his pancake mix, etc.

I have this is print format and it's pretty large so I'm not sure how the ebook looks on a smaller screen but this is far cheaper than buying it in print. I may just pick this version up as well.

Anyone have the kindle/digital edition already? The "Look inside" option for the book, the text looks blurry on my system. It does not do that on other books.

I already own "I'm Just Here for the Food," is this worth getting in addition?

One of those series that you wish never would have ended. There was an unlimited supply of material, so I guess it just came down to willingness to keep going. Can anyone suggest a replacement series of equal style to Good Eats?

Not sure how the format would be to digest (pun intended 😉) this because it's a beautiful large book with lots of photos.
