For anyone thats been looking for a VR headset, refurbished Oculus Rifts are back in stock and being sold directly from Oculus. Older tech but better than paying huge markups on the Rift S and Quest.

I was deciding on buying this but is it really worth it tho? I feel like the Rift S already has weak specs so for $100 less, the original rift (4 yr old tech) seems pricey

It is. This is not a good price. Get it for $200 on Facebook marketplace.

I had one, sold it.
Never really used it, couldn't find that killer game making it worth keeping.
Also not very comfortable, if you're wearing glasses, and it gets hot when you wear it.

Considering I paid $350 for a new one 2 years ago, $300 seems a little steep for a used one. It probably should be $300 new, $200 refurbished.

How is this a deal? Rift was new this price just before Rift S was announced. Rift S was $350 for Black Friday.

Ideally, this is not worth for the original Rift.

BUT, if you are in the market for a VR and can't find a reasonable VR price due to price gouging and resellers and everything out of stock,

$299 for this makes it okay if you are out of your mind and really want to play VR.

I would just wait until the situation with supply chain resolves and find another form of entertainment in the mean time. I'm in the same boat. Decided not to get price gouged.

if you're just getting into vr and this is your first rift headset, put a bit more money into a brand new rift S instead of the rift.
I have the rift and there's no way in hell i would have purchased this "deal" at all. at this point, it's better to just get the quest instead of the rift. If you get the rift S at that price though.. hell yeah. otherwise, this deal, imo, is only for the desperate.

Not sure this is the time to be buying refurbished products that go on your face.

Also this isn't a deal unless the marketplace is seriously price gouging.
