These are excellent, been using the battery packs for years. The charger is compatible with every similar pack I own that has this formfactor (with the contacts on the end, and not the back), both the MS brand & AmazonBasics, and viceversa, the packs are compatible with those chargers, as well.

Even if you're not using the charger, this is a great deal for two rechargeable battery packs.

The battery pack stats say 1200 mAh. How does battery life compare to my current usage - 2x eneloops at 2000 mAh each = 4000 mAh?

You can plug a micro usb in to the controller to charge with these battery packs so you don't need to pop them out. It helps to be able to switch them out if you need to. It got one the last time these were on sale and I think it's great for $10.

Bought one earlier this year for the same price and already one of the batteries is pretty much dead (some others have mentioned this in the reviews). The S version I bought in Dec is still doing well.

Sorry but the battery life is garbage - I went back to using regular batteries as I got tired of swapping the two packs because they die so fast.
