First it was 100,000 then 500,000 now it's 1,000,000 and it won't stop there. There is no limit for new subs. Enjoy and let the music play. Stay safe friends.

+1 on this. I'm a long-time guitar player that just started on ukulele a few months ago. Signed up for the 3-month free Play trial (a couple weeks ago, before they expanded it to 1,000,000), because why not? Honestly, it looks pretty good for someone picking up the instrument for the first time, but it tops out at a level that I would consider fairly basic. I was hoping there would be more advanced lessons. There were a couple new ukulele-specific techniques I picked up from levels 4 and 5. The video tutorials for songs would be nice for a true beginner, but they are painfully slow for someone already comfortable with chords and strumming and picking.

This is not a criticism of the platform; I think it would be pretty good (and certainly worth free!) for someone just starting. I'm just not the target audience, so I'm leaving this info for other SDers in the same position.

Also kudos to Fender for offering the 3-month trial without requiring a credit card and auto-renewing after the trial period. This is a true free trial.

I've been using it for a few weeks, acoustic guitar. It's fine, getting me in to a habit of practicing. Some videos are better than others, not sure if i will continue after three months though.

I've tried it for the Ukulele. There are plenty of other options on Youtube too. One of the instructors has differents videos on Fender and also Youtube, not sure if all songs are located in both locations though.

I was slightly disappointed that 1,000,000 free subs didn't mean a free subwoofer.

Yeah, they'll send you as many codes as you ask for. There is no limit. Once they hit 1,000,000 it'll go to 2,000,000

It's truly beginner stuff. Beneficial to some I suppose, but disappointing for others.

Yup, I am especially not a fan of the way they teach their songs, they usually just show off a riff or if its the song it's the simplest version with strumming patterns and chords that sound nothing like the originals.

So many dumb comments about the content... Do you all even know what "learn to play" means and implies..?
