home depot's previous deals have been the 3-tool brushless kit (brushless drill, impact driver, circular saw) + 2 free brushless tools of your choice. the price for those came out to be $259. then lowered to $229. then lowered to $199
and you got a large tool bag

at $279 (more money) and getting 1 less brushless tool and no tool bag (but you are getting their crappy light) this not that great of a price, especially during these times when you would expect deals left and right to move inventory due to reduced foot traffic

i sure hope the upcoming ryobi days will be better than this. they will need free tools promos to get people to buy (for those who still have a paycheck)
Sadly I'm insanely guilty of this. I'm a pharmacist but I work from home, the day i got sent home i decided to run ethernet cable through my entire house... Three weeks later i now have a ramset, framing nailer, drywall screwgun and a super angry pregnant wife telling me i have a problem.
You should mention these are the brushless tools in title. Otherwise, not a good deal.

Ryobi Brushless kit on clearance. It does have the less desirable P239 Impact Driver instead of the P238, but seems like a good deal for a brushless kit.

Good tools since they are brushless, but I wouldn't consider this a great deal overall with the non-HP+ batteries.

I don't know why Ryobi deals make me so happy. I've already got all those tools. Just used the angle grinder a couple days ago to cut steel tubing a hair shorter.

Always looking out for 40v deals. I'd like a chainsaw and possibly backpack blower. Probably should have invested in Ego ecosystem instead.

Yes, that was a great deal last year.....the price actually dropped again to $159 at the end. Plus, they let you choose your two free tools. I originally bought a set at $259 and kept bringing my receipt back for adjustments. Once it hit $159, I bought a few more sets.

If this year is like last year, this kit should drop in price a few more times. However, they are good about price adjustments (with only the receipt), so no harm to buy now if you need it and keep an eye for price reductions.

Why is the 239 less desirable than the 238? Curious as the kit I purchased has the P239

Home Depot and Lowe's are popping these days. Parking lot is always full in my area. Guess people have no where else to go so they start working on their houses

The P239 has lower torque and speed, no LED lights, and no torque/speed selector switch
