All Redpocket plans $5 for first month

Just noticed that Redpocket is offering all their monthly plans for $5 flat for first month. I guess a perfect opportunity to test their service for a month to decide if they can be considered for the switch.

I see some confusion about the deal that it's only for GSMA (AT&T) & CDMAS (Sprint) so, wanted to clarify that's not true. The $5 deal for the first month is for all 4 networks i.e., GSMA, GSMT, CDMA, CDMAS. GSMA and CDMAS, however, gets you additional data for certain plans eg 1GB plan gets you 3GB for a limited time on those two networks. The two promos should not be mixed up IMO. GSMA and CDMAS definitely sweetens the deal though. But what is there to lose? Try unlimited all, for eg, for $5 as against $60/mo regular price on any network.

PS: Don't forget you get unlimited minutes to 70+ countries as a bonus. Can't get any better.

Only for Sprint and AT&T. I was just about to order a replacement SIM and this is cheaper than the SIM Smilie

Red Pocker for a limited time is offering all prepaid plans at $5 for the first month and original plan cost later. I chatted with CSR and he said you will have 90 days to activate.

Saw this earlier, too. Good opportunity to try out the service. Having issues signing up though.

You can still try Verizon service for $5 for first month. Only disadvantage on Verizon and TMo is that you don't get extra data that AT&T and Sprint can get you. Why not try unlimited plan on Verizon ($60 value) for only $5 for first month? Remember no matter how big or small the original plan cost is, you still need to pay 5 bucks for the first month.

I switched from GSMA (ATT) on Red Pocket to CDMA (Verizon) because the CDMA plans let me hotspot from my iPhone. This was worth it for me.

Great find OP repped. Will it make me ineligible for bring your number port in deals later for whichever network I choose in Red pocket ? Say for example I choose Sprint so I won't be able to get a new customer port in deal on sprint if I port out from red pocket to sprint right ?

I would say so. Redpocket is an mvno to all 4 big players. So, technically if you are using them on Sprint network you can't take advantage of any more port in promos. Just my 2ยข though.

So for an unlocked device how will we get to know whether we should select GSM plan or CDMA one ? Will any one of them work with it ?

If your "unlocked" phone came from a particular provider, that's your best bet. If, however, it's "true" unlocked like Samsung factory unlocked devices, you can choose any that your phone has bands for.
