Honestly just skip this entirely unless you're so hard up for money that spending that bit extra on a TCL 43S425 [amazon.com] ($225 on Amazon right now) or something else similar would be way too much for you, but you also need a TV desperately. Note that this doesn't have any smart functionality, so it's not going to be a good guest room TV unless you have an extra fire stick or similar sitting around to toss it on.
You can (with the right video card/firmware and settings: you have to change the HDMI type in the TV's settings to 2.0, it defaults to 1.4, and you have to use one of the inputs that supports it) get this to do 4k 4:4:4 @60hz. But it's an RGBW panel, so you'll end up with issues that are similar to 4:2:2 chroma anyway.
And there is some heavy picture processing turned on by default (it really annihilates 1080p upscaling badly), which CAN be turned off/modified in the service menu... but the tv doesn't actually save the changes, so they're lost every time it powers back on.
Sceptre has steadfastly refused to fix the firmware issues for this TV since it was released in 2015. Their reps also steadfastly lied about it being RGBW, claiming it wasn't when it clearly is from various subpixel pictures of the screen (and all around obvious subpixel based artifacting in 4:4:4). It's now 2020 and there are oodles of better choices at quite affordable prices, even if this is at a rock bottom price.
Now, thats not to say i havent gone thru a number of them. We have a high functioning autistic living with us, an 8 year old and more animals coming in and out of the house than i care to talk about.
When my brother smashed his head on one and it broke, qhen my 8 year old some how cased one to drop off the wall or when our autistic sister has a... moment. ..
A replacement is only a few hundred and a few days away.
Buying disposable serves some life sytles and we have some that are 8 years old and still work great.
If youre an audiophile or a screen buff, you arent going to consider this brand, that doeant mean its trash. It means your hobby is taken more seriously than i take it.
This is a fine deal, i bought the 65" deal two days ago

I've purchased a couple 55"-65" versions of these for school classrooms precisely because they're not smart tv. Worked well so far.
I just ordered one, check again
