This folding trailer only takes up 24" x 63" of floor space when folded, so it can be stored just about anywhere, but unfolded, it can handle up to 1195 lb.. Add plywood decking for a 48" x 96" bed. Hitch this folding utility trailer to a vehicle that has a 1-7/8 in. ball hitch to transport securely. ~ persian_mafia

If you plan on towing this on a highway you might want to wait for the super duty trailer. It has bigger tires and hubs that are rated for highway speeds. The super duty also has a 2" tongue.

I bought this 4 years ago. Still going strong. Leave it outside in southern calu all the time. Agree with all the above comments about improvements during assembly. A $250 trailer is WAY cheaper than buying a pick up truck for hauling stuff around. Better tires might allow faster travel beyond the 55pmh limit......although I am usually going 65 to 70. I had a GL450 pulling this...and now a sienna....no problem. It is a royal pain to disassemble to fold up and put away as intended.....but you can do it. Mine never got folded up since I bought.

I really like my trailer, but it took me a good 16 hours to build including the side boards. You wouldn't realize it by looking, but it's held together with about 80 bolts. Improvements I'd make:

-Repack the bearing grease. The stuff it ships with is designed to prevent rusting, not for actually driving on.
-If you want to be able to fit 4x8 sheets with sidewalls up, you can't just tac the walls to the stakes because it would make the box slightly less than 4x8 in dimension. I ended up cutting stakes into the sidewalls and inserting the walls directly into the stake pockets.
-Get some brackets to allow the sidewalls to quickly lock together so you can convert easily between walls up, and flat trailer.
-Throw the included wiring into the garbage. It will disintegrate very quickly and you'll just have to replace it very soon.
-The tongue is 1 7/8ths" which is annoying. I prefer 2".
-Attach a latch of some sort to keep it folded up. I can't tell you how many times I've dropped a side before I put a latch on there. It would mess someone up pretty good if it dropped on them.
-The casters are garbage. Replace them if you actually want to push the trailer around when folded up.

It's going to rust wherever the paint is chipped. Probably not a big deal though.
I need a small trailer to just roll my slide in truck camper into my garage. The camper weighs about 2,200 pounds and once in the garage I could lower the camper jacks to take weight off of the trailer. Would you trust this trailer to be that far over stated capacity for a 20 foot trip?

What is this packed in? Will it fit in a small SUV with seats folded?
It comes in 2 boxes and will probably fit in your suv. One box has all the frame pieces and the axel, and the other has the wheels, suspension, and fenders.

People who say they use this to "move stuff arround," what do you mean? Do you build a truck bed on it?

In the OP details it mentioned camper trailer projects but I suggest you get 1720lb capacity version of this trailer instead. It goes on sale for $350 and a lot of people confuse the two because they are the same size. So anyone dead set on building a camper from a folding trailer that's rated up to 45mph, consider spending an extra $80.
This is good info. Any guide how to convert one of these trailers into a camper? I would actually like something just to sleep in with AC.

I built this in 2009. I resprayed every single part with red or black Rustoleum before I even put it together. It's been left outside in NJ weather for the last 10 years but you would never know it. Looks great. Bottom of frame is rusting a bit probably because I latch stuff down to the frame using metal straps. But this thing is a must have for a home owner. I've hauled leaves, logs, ellipticals, snowblowers, refrigerators, washers/dryers, you name it. I did just replace the tires last year with heavier duty ones, but that was because sidewalk ply on old ones were dry rotting and splitting, but I realistically could have probably gotten more years out of them if I was a cared to risk it.

I put on a sheet of 1/2 pressure treated ply without cutting it I half so it would be more stable because I had no intentions of ever folding it. I stakes sides and front with 2x4s but left back "tailgate" frames with Clevis pins so I cools easily remove it for loading.

2 boxes and yes it should fit. I was able to fit in a Subaru impreza wagon when I got it several years ago.

Can this be stored outdoors without it getting all rusty?
It would definitely rust. That being said it folds up nicely and fits in a standard garage folded.
