-Repack the bearing grease. The stuff it ships with is designed to prevent rusting, not for actually driving on.
-If you want to be able to fit 4x8 sheets with sidewalls up, you can't just tac the walls to the stakes because it would make the box slightly less than 4x8 in dimension. I ended up cutting stakes into the sidewalls and inserting the walls directly into the stake pockets.
-Get some brackets to allow the sidewalls to quickly lock together so you can convert easily between walls up, and flat trailer.
-Throw the included wiring into the garbage. It will disintegrate very quickly and you'll just have to replace it very soon.
-The tongue is 1 7/8ths" which is annoying. I prefer 2".
-Attach a latch of some sort to keep it folded up. I can't tell you how many times I've dropped a side before I put a latch on there. It would mess someone up pretty good if it dropped on them.
-The casters are garbage. Replace them if you actually want to push the trailer around when folded up.

It's going to rust wherever the paint is chipped. Probably not a big deal though.

Many people (myself included) don't have the space for a 12' trailer. The main selling point of this trailer is that it folds up for vertical storage in a garage. As far as I know, you can't do that with a large trailer.

It doesnt hold much weight. Not even half a yard of bulk material or half cord but would be good for atvs, brush, etc.

There's nowhere that all of that wouldn't add at least an hour, likely 2, to every trip you need a trailer for.
If you need a trailer once a year why are you even thinking about buying one? If you use one often enough to think about buying one you're burning far too much time on bullshit when you could spend $250-300 to remedy that.

I'm looking for a trailer to tow my ATV which has a plow on it to my office and my parents' house for snow removal during the winter. Probably would be about 10 miles local highway (55mph speed limit at most) each way to the office and back.

If you have a Uhaul nearby then that is the way to go. Just rent them. You don't have to worry about maintenance like replacing tires or the lights not working.You also have a variety of different size trailers available for really not a whole lot of $ to rent including enclosed trailers. Their 4x8 enclosed trailer is less than $15 to rent, for example. It is nice to have a basic trailer at home but Uhaul is super convenient.

For modifications: I painted it with Rustoleum Gloss Smoke Grey as I was building it. I also added some brackets to stiffen the floppy fenders, a toolbox on the front, and later added some side rails.
I had it inspected, properly titled, and licensed. Many people just ignore this part but it's easy and cheap, at least around here.
Owned it for about 5 years then sold it for $100 more than it cost me to buy and build it. Used that cash to purchase and fix up a larger 7x11.5 trailer that I got at a county auction. The new trailer is 100x better than the HF trailer, but the HF was perfectly fine.
