I was looking for 2 TB portable HDD and came across this. This product looks like regularly priced at $80.99 but there is $20 instant savings and additional savings of $15 off $60+ orders coupon code would take it down to $45.99

If you are looking for black color it is also on sale for slightly higher price $80.99 with instant savings of $15 and coupon code of $15 off $60+ orders takes it down to $50.99

13130 --> Coupon code for $15 off $60+ orders

$40-$50 is par for 2tb drives but keep in mind companies inflate regular prices to demonstrate "how much you are saving."

I'm new to the market and looking for a replacement desktop EHD. The one I have was a gift from 7 yrs ago. How long do these things last? I'm worried that one of these days it won't turn on and lose everything I have saved. And is this a good deal?

If you are looking to up your laptop storage, these can easily be opened to remove the internal HDD, which measures 9.5 mm in height. And at 2TB is pretty much the largest size HHD you can get in this form factor that is not the more expensive SSD type.

it isn't going to be good as a primary HDD, but if you are able to add it as a second HDD, you can't get much better price for 2TB in only 9.5mm form factor. SSDs in the 2 TB range will cost you five times as much.
