QA Edit: Seems the 50% off appliance part of this deal may have died but users as of today 5/1 still say they're getting the 50% off on open box TVs still. So we will let this thread stay in Hot Deals for another day or so, for users that still can get it.
------------------------

I was shopping around for a new washer/dryer, and picked out a pair by LG. Called in to the store to find out what might be damaged on the washer since you can't go in and see it. The Best Buy website lists the open box price as $695.99. They went over and looked at it, told me about the scuffs, and then mentioned "oh, and the open-box promotion brings it down to $347.99

I bought it, then called the other Best Buy that had the matching dryer, also as open-box. I asked them what was wrong with it, and about the price since "another Best Buy said you're running an open box promotion" and we all know that could be specific to one location or whatnot. The guy on the phone said the price I got the washer for was crazy, he'd never heard of such a thing. He went to explain that open box pricing changes all the time depending on the new item sale prices etc, but he'd ask his manager. He came back and said that there's an additional coupon he has to scan, for 50% off open box major appliances. The Geek Squad extended warranty price is based on the price you pay, not MSRP, so that also goes down in price should you be interested.

Pricing on the website does NOT reflect this promotion. You must call the store so they can scan the coupon, and pay over the phone. My order doesn't show any SKU for a coupon, just the super-low price.

So. Every BB in Tucson, AZ is on the same page now. I single handly got them all on the same page. Just call and ask them. See my previous posts on how to go about it and use the image of the flyer they scan that I attached in a previous posts as well. For those in Phoenix ask your manage to call Tucson stores if they need convincing.

I'm in that area. I guess you tried Columbus Blvd? What did they tell you?
There is no additional discount on top of the online price. The online price is final. I tried Oxford Valley, NE Philly, Willow Grove and Plymouth Meeting.

Any chance you could lay the page down on a table or something and get the whole thing in the picture so we can print it? I tried providing the discount code on it to my store, and he couldn't figure it out. Said to bring the page to the store and go from there.

Any Best Buy employees in Boise Idaho want to be my friend? Called in on an oven but was told that I have to have the employees name and number, or better yet buy it through the employee to qualify.

looked at a few open box ts, the discount was eligible but, the open box items were missing remotes and various accessories. i'd take a shot at higher quality TVs, some of the open box TVs look beat to ****.

Scored an LG OLED B9 65" for $949 plus tax. Didn't have to do anything except call and ask. He said the discount was automatic on open box TVs and that is 50% off sale price and not the open box price. https://i.imgur.com/wovY2H0.jpg

I am currently on route to another store to get my matching dryer. When I finish texting and driving I'll see if I can lay it flat. You can also get a camera to PDF scanner app that crops stuff to make it look flat

Ok. So Update. It took calling 3 stores, but eventually I got through. And after that manager explained it to me I was able to explain it properly to the other managers at other stores. The washer and dryer I want were at different stores. I was getting the run around this morning with people not knowing about the deal or needing employee confirmation calls ins or the employee has to buy it, bla bla bla. You have to explain to them that is not discounted already on the price online. It is a further discount. It is Friend and Family that applies to ANYONE. The main confusion come from 2 promotional emails that went out last week mentioning the friends and family discount and then another one explaining an employee discount. They must ring the item up in store, NOT ONLINE, and then apply a scanner bar coupon. They did this with a test run of a random open box appliance before applying to the open box items I already bought online already to reserve the items i want.

I am on my way to pick up one item and once I am there the manager will cancel my item and re-ring it up with the 50% applied. He will then show me the barcode they need to scan to take to the other store to explain it to the other manager when I go pick up the other item. I will update in a few hours I get a screen shot of that barcode.
I really like that manager's interpretation of the promo and hope I can convince my store to honor the deal. I called and asked about open box staright up first time and associate offered no discount. I went to store for a curbside order and asked. The employee told me there was no promo on open box right now. There would be one when the store opens up haaha.

You didn't have to ask about a discount? Just had them find the SKU, ring it up and then the price reflected the 50% additional discount?

I was told I had to have the employee with me in-store to make the purchase.
