QA Edit: Seems the 50% off appliance part of this deal may have died but users as of today 5/1 still say they're getting the 50% off on open box TVs still. So we will let this thread stay in Hot Deals for another day or so, for users that still can get it.
------------------------

I was shopping around for a new washer/dryer, and picked out a pair by LG. Called in to the store to find out what might be damaged on the washer since you can't go in and see it. The Best Buy website lists the open box price as $695.99. They went over and looked at it, told me about the scuffs, and then mentioned "oh, and the open-box promotion brings it down to $347.99

I bought it, then called the other Best Buy that had the matching dryer, also as open-box. I asked them what was wrong with it, and about the price since "another Best Buy said you're running an open box promotion" and we all know that could be specific to one location or whatnot. The guy on the phone said the price I got the washer for was crazy, he'd never heard of such a thing. He went to explain that open box pricing changes all the time depending on the new item sale prices etc, but he'd ask his manager. He came back and said that there's an additional coupon he has to scan, for 50% off open box major appliances. The Geek Squad extended warranty price is based on the price you pay, not MSRP, so that also goes down in price should you be interested.

Pricing on the website does NOT reflect this promotion. You must call the store so they can scan the coupon, and pay over the phone. My order doesn't show any SKU for a coupon, just the super-low price.

Put the sku in the discount code box, says it doesn't recognize the code. That it could be an instore only code.
Yes, it's in-store only. Which I why I recommended buying online full price and at time of pick up, cancel and repurchase with the SKU.

I received 50% off the open box price for a washer, dryer and 65" television.
Nice! Post a receipt on Imgur with a link so I can try to get a price adjustment!

Microwaves (at least countertops) don't work... at least for a store in the east bay. They told me small appliances aren't eligible. I was able to get a Samsung gas range stove top for a great price though ($225+tax) that is going for about $600 at most major retailers.
Over the range are generally counted as regular appliances.

above is the employee flyer with barcode. your welcome!
I'll leave this here. It is the original employee flyer with instructions that include the barcode and the sku from all the way back on page 28. There's a lot of good info around page 25-35 on different ways of getting a local BB to honor the code. Everything from calling to just going down to the store. Just keep trying. Once I found this, a lot of people were able to get through.

This seems like it excludes a wine fridge.

My store wouldn't do 50% off appliances without employee over the phone but would price out the TVs. Told to buy online and they'd adjust in store. I currently have a Vizio M658-G1 on order that would be $300 but not sure if that be too big for my basement media room. It looks like I could do a 55" in LG 55um7300upa for $200. Thoughts?

So. Every BB in Tucson, AZ is on the same page now. I single handly got them all on the same page. Just call and ask them. See my previous posts on how to go about it and use the image of the flyer they scan that I attached in a previous posts as well. For those in Phoenix ask your manage to call Tucson stores if they need convincing.
Omg... I'm in Tucson, too! I owe you a beer.

This is probably a long shot but is anyone here a bestbuy employee in northern California that wouldn't mind me using them as a reference? I called several bestbuys here and they wanted to verify an employee's name in thier system before they will give the discount.
What part of Norcal? I'm planning to try this at a couple Sacramento stores tomorrow.

For anyone out there looking for a name of a Best Buy employee - open Yelp, type Best Buy and the city you are trying to get the item form, let's say Dublin, CA. Scroll through the reviews and someone for sure will have mentioned a employee name, thanking them for their assistance while shopping at the store. Just my 2 cents.

Big thanks to the person that shared the image with us around page 26. That helped me score a electric LG range for $611 ($2400 new) and a matching LG microwave for $135 ($499 new). Both items were store display models. Only problem with the microwave was, when I got home, I noticed the glass tray was broken, but I'll deal with it tomorrow. Made the order while waiting on the curbside pick area at the parking lot of the Best Buy in Milpitas, CA. That was the closest store, 47mi. away from me, that had that range. I wish I needed an 85in. TV (bought 3 years ago) or a fridge. Amazing deals can be had.

Good luck and happy hunting.

Really? I purchased a C9 Oled 65 inch online. I called the store to adjust the price and they said they can't and that I'd have to call the main number for adjustment. Any truth to this?
