QA Edit: Seems the 50% off appliance part of this deal may have died but users as of today 5/1 still say they're getting the 50% off on open box TVs still. So we will let this thread stay in Hot Deals for another day or so, for users that still can get it.
------------------------
I was shopping around for a new washer/dryer, and picked out a pair by LG. Called in to the store to find out what might be damaged on the washer since you can't go in and see it. The Best Buy website lists the open box price as $695.99. They went over and looked at it, told me about the scuffs, and then mentioned "oh, and the open-box promotion brings it down to $347.99
I bought it, then called the other Best Buy that had the matching dryer, also as open-box. I asked them what was wrong with it, and about the price since "another Best Buy said you're running an open box promotion" and we all know that could be specific to one location or whatnot. The guy on the phone said the price I got the washer for was crazy, he'd never heard of such a thing. He went to explain that open box pricing changes all the time depending on the new item sale prices etc, but he'd ask his manager. He came back and said that there's an additional coupon he has to scan, for 50% off open box major appliances. The Geek Squad extended warranty price is based on the price you pay, not MSRP, so that also goes down in price should you be interested.
Pricing on the website does NOT reflect this promotion. You must call the store so they can scan the coupon, and pay over the phone. My order doesn't show any SKU for a coupon, just the super-low price.

1. Even with the coupon is it only "satisfactory" or "fair" items discounted? The 50% off is already on the computer for those.
2. Half the stores are telling me the 1-year manufacturer's warranty is invalid on these. ???? I thought LG OLEDs went from the date of sale.
Tried a bunch of best buys with varying degrees of success. Some need you to bring the employee with you, some have to have the employee order, some didn't care as long as you asked about the promotion (and even then, some would do it over the phone before you got there and some wanted you to go there first and ask when you picked up the item).
I'm still debating, but manged to get a 55 inch frame TV with no box, remote, or anything for $580 before taxes and a 55 inch B9 in good condition (listed as satisfactory but store says its in good condition) for $700 before taxes. The weird thing is that the Frame TV was the sale price while the B9 was the retail price.
All from one store in MD:
LG 27.5 cu ft fridge retail $2955 - got for $1357
Wpool Washer retail $1029 - got for $390
Wpool Dryer retail $936 - got for $442
Plus all accessories and 5 year protection plans x 3 = $2805 total savings of $3165.
Then
Bosch electric oven range retail $1979 - got for $718, w 5 year pp for $925, total savings of $1262.
Now to get a Uhaul and pick up all the loot over the weekend.
Thanks SD, my new house has 4/5 appliances !!
I also called BB at Muncie, IN, and was told that the 50% off would work if I provide name and tag of a BB employee. They were also insistent that I buy a washer & dryer, and the 50% off would not work if I just got one.
Tried calling Washington Square, IN, and they didn't have anybody at the Appliances Dept. at the time.
I'm located in Central Illinois - if that helps anyone.
Thanks

I saw mention of the parts that I did read I see the discount for Major Appliance (Frig/WasherDryer) and even sawa post about TV.
Can anyone confirm if it works for electronics in general (e.g.home audio) and/or computer laptops?
I bit on the 5-year warranty for $229 as the sales rep swore up and down the unit was covered at its retail price of $2200 if they cant fix or replace. Anyone familiar with their GeekSquad warranty? I am usually a firm no on warranties, but with it covering burn-in, that eases my mind.
Both confirmed that open box satisfactory or below appliances + TVs are 50% off. One even tried to put the code in for an excellent condition but it didn't work. He offered to take another $100 off but I declined.
The second store had an LG C9 satisfactory available (only box missing but base and remote available). $1100 + $100 gift card and I bought the 2 yr BB warranty for $149.
Now the question is, which one should I keep?
LG C9 for $1100
Sony A8G for $999.99 (missing remote and base/stand)
Thank You
Something is very wrong with your store. Every BB has the 50% off automatically ringing up on any open box in satisfactory or fair condition. Call 800 Best Buy.
