i cant comment on most of this, but the rubbermaid ez find stuff is not really a deal. 42 piece set is regularly lower than that on amazon and ace hardware.

Is the better homes containers as good as the rubbermaid ones from the other day?

I mean... Pyrex is glass so... usually you're good until YOU break it on accident.

All the pyrex ones are glass, and the rest are plastic, FYI.

Not really a deal unless you were going to buy a brand new set anyway. Not worth buying to mix with your existing.

im a huge fan of the rubbermaid... and for this reason alone... they dont change. idk... 5... 10... 15 years now? 3 sizes, and lids fit all tops. its become a game changer for meal planning/food storage. no more digging for the right lid to fit the right container.

as far as buy it for life? idk... in my life, containers like this slowly get lost or left at other people's houses, or people take food home in them, so they are slowly rotated out. that said, i have never broken one. they do occasionally get stained by red sauces.

the glass will last but not the plastic. it's likely to be ripped by usage or warped by hot food.

Except the lids kind of suck. I have this set and they get kind of brittle if you put them in the dishwasher. I've had three lids crack.

Here is what important to note:
1. If the dish is plastic, it is light so it is great for portability. But, if it is used at home, it is a big drawback. Why? Because it takes on the stains especially of means cooked with spices. As an example, if you place a cooked meal with turmeric, the dish will take on a yellow stain and you will have to take plenty of time having to scrub the dish clean. It is not worth the effort. So, if you don't need the lower weight of plastic, switch to glass (pyrex) which doesn't get stained like plastic and can be cleaned quickly.

2. COSTCO has a much better deal on Pyrex for an 18 piece set for $24.99 (after $5 instant rebate) with free shipping. It also has a "snapware" cover which is much stronger than the otherwise flimsy pyrex covers.

I have had ALL my Pyrex lids crack. It is almost ridiculous. The Pyrex reputation for quality is tarnished by its flimsy tops. Maybe, it is deliberate, so you will pay through your nose to replace the lips, and thereby come back to Pyrex for the replacement lids.

I just had 2 sets of the first one listed delivered a few minutes ago. They look to be what we needed. Good price for the set.
