I really wanted to enjoy this game, and Ubi made some decent updates post-release to bring it into the "not bad" category, but Ghost Recon Wildlands is still the far superior game if you are going to invest the time in this genre.

This game kept messing up on me so i got a refund. For some reason the game minimizing itself and wouldnt come back up half the time. Gameplay is boring too, wasnt as fun as Wildlands.

Wildlands was far less (typical) Ubisoft way over complicated confusion and game systems that seem to have been added as an afterthought type stuff. First 20 hours of Breakpoint I was pretty confused of what was going on and I don't think I even realized the unlock screen existed.

Gameplay is overall very similar though. I did like how Breakpoint you could let the game give you guided mission structure (if you wanted) vs just attacking every target randomly...which you can still do. Wildlands wins for NOT being online only but I might have preferred Breakpoint better, felt more refined.

Oh, but Wildlands hand much better base setups. You actually needed to plan your infiltration, not just wait for guards to wander out of sight of one another. Felt much more tactical in that aspect.

Game is decent with mods. Just wish the world was more alive.

Some of the new mechanics in breakpoint are are super cool, like hiding in the dirt and sliding. There is a cool fast travel system that doubles as a prep area for missions. You can "eat" to boost a skill temporarily, and spawn a vehicle, etc.

The world is just so boring and dead tho. It's beautiful, but the setting is very lazy. An island is settled by this private army that you shoot's you down. You have to escape/stop them. The story is nonsense. The only inhabitants on the island are soldiers, robots and the occasional scientist.
Exploring was not as fun as wildlands because you're basically in fight or flight all the time. Wildlands was funner to me because you could just tear around Bolivia in a mini bus, and it felt actually inhabited. Breakpoint has all these cool futuristic buildings and cars but no one is driving around or doing anything. The only real cars you can drive are the private army ones.

I played most of the both Wildlands and breakpoint with my brother. I preferred Wildlands for the setting. He beat both and preferred breakpoint because the mechanics were better. For $6 this is a fun romp, but don't expect a world changing story (or even one that makes sense). It's better with friends. Don't take it too seriously and you'll have a great time
